I have been trying to come up with some angles where we can use poor officiating or biased officiating to our advantage. There is always screams of fixes and such--now more than ever it seems. I don't think most of the games fall under fixes as they do unskilled officials. 10+ years ago, who watched the MAC, C-USA, etc. if they even existed. Now the major conferences suffer because of the thin pool to choose from. My comparison was about the ACC which does not have teams of officials where the SEC does.
Does this effect the outcome of games in a specific way. Georgia Tech had the same official three weeks in a row once this year. Does that allow him to recognize small nuances with the team, so he can call them tighter? Would this work on the team of officials level as well. I see it effecting false starts, offsides, and holding (on the line) more than anything.
Could someone else that is wiser in the handicapping ways help out on this?
Thanks,
