I've read the posts. I understand where so SIM is coming from in asking the questions he asked. Here's what we all have to consider.

I, like many of you, have placed bets on NBA's picks. I will continue to do so. I have also had many nights where I capped my games, posted my plays and then checked out other plays by posters like NBA, the Addict, Hudson, Stock, RIQ, BP, Rube, Thunder, Arrow, etc. Let me give all of you some advice.

Cap your own games. Sit down, study the trends, look at the matchups, consider the venue, come up with YOUR NUMBER! Have your card in front of you with "your plays", ranked in order of your most liked plays down to the ones you aren't so sure about.

If you want to look at another poster's plays before you place your bets then fine. But you have to be willing to accept the fact that your thoughts will be different than others.

We all have ups and downs and there will be nights when the well respected like NBA, Thunder, Addict and all the others have bad nights. They can cap with the best of em, but the bottom line is UCONN has to shoot their percentages, not turn it over and stay out of foul trouble to cover the spread. All things that are out of NBA's or anyone's control.

Sorry for the rant, here's my picks and my logic behind them for today.

UCONN -2 (Lamb will run the show and lead the Huskies through an incredible March that I believe takes them deep into the tournament. Also love UCONN's offensive rebounding effort)

Georgetown -5 (Pitt will be worn down midway through the 2nd half which will make a close game become a 7-10 point Hoya win)

Oklahoma -1.5.....5*(Speed and Athleticism prevail. Sooners by 6+)

UTEP -3.5 (they played Memphis in the FedEx forum 3 weeks ago and came back from 15 down to win the game. I sat in attendance and watched a team, Coached by Tim Floyd might I add, that never backed down or gave up. Look for Cedric Lang to be more of a presence than expected)

Heat....Totally agree with your take on things.

My best advice to people is to just use everyone on here as a resource and not as a lifeline. If you're relying on these good cappers to bail you out from a bad night with one of their big plays, then you're bound for a bad outcome.

Not everyone hits their top picks...I learned the hard way by following a top play of someone's that lost and bet more than I should have.

Now I know I don't post plays on here, but I do play games on a nightly basis. I have become attached to this forum for the great insight and banter that goes on. When in doubt....TRUST YOUR GUT...I know it sounds cliche, but more often than not it's right. I'll look back and forth on a game and if I see people are on it as well, it furthers my confidence in the play, but if we're on opposite sides, I will either play my side or just lay off it completely.

At the end of the day, you can only blame yourself for the play you've made and money you've lost. It's easy to point the finger at someone else.

With that said....let's all have a big March Madness and win some $$$$$!!!!! :toast:

so while I agree with this statement in a broader sense, the fact is, many of us (myself included) just do not have the time to sit down and cap/analyze the games the way we might like to. So, we look to other posters who we think are "good" and whose plays we will tail. That is a huge part of these sites.

As for NBA Kid, I would never ever take a swipe at him. He is VERY good (even if he has 15+ plays some nights--LOL).

This is why I look at key matchups.

The Celtics are ten deep too, but I don't see them lighting folks up when KG's knees are wobbling and he has to be replaced by Brian
Scalabrine!

I just think that legs on 5 days rest will have a big advantage with 8 minutes to go against guys who played 40 minutes yesterday. And the Pitt coaching staff will sub more in the first half to try to keep their guys fresh longer, meaning GTown could get up big early and hold the Panthers off.

Just my thoughts.....been wrong a lot lately!

Where it is real F ing COLD
You also have to look at other aspects too. I am not even thinking about playing NBA kids college hoops right now..

But if you have been paying attention is NHL picks have been solid. He is better than most but has his lulls but if you can bet all sports, you have to watch, cause if he is cold in one sport, he is usually heating up in another sport.

I think these teams are pretty evenly matched, hoping it goes to 6 again.
