you're right he can't be worse than ball...but how much experience does he have ?

imo...10 is alot of points to lay to gt because they have a pretty good run defense..but i'll have to think about it more.

some more info...

some more info...

ATLANTA -- Reggie Ball, who has taken nearly every snap at quarterback for Georgia Tech this season, has been ruled academically ineligible for the Gator Bowl.

Cornerback Kenny Scott is also academically ineligible, the school said Wednesday.

"You're disappointed for the young men and you're disappointed for the team," coach Chan Gailey said. "Although this is a very, very bad ending to the careers of these two young men, we can't forget the contributions they have made to the Georgia Tech program the last four years."

Ball, a senior, passed for 1,820 yards this season while starting every game. He threw for 20 touchdowns and was intercepted 14 times, but was criticized for inconsistency, especially after Tech's offense sputtered in a regular season-ending loss to Georgia and a loss to Wake Forest in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game.

Scott was a three-year starter. This season he had 50 tackles, two interceptions and 10 pass breakups.

I'm glad the Reggie Ball era is finally over. What a fitting ending. Taylor Bennett is the backup who'll be taking Ball's place. He's had one game that I remember him playing in and that was back in September 05 against Connecticut when Ball had an illness. He did have one TD pass to Calvin Johnson in that game. He doesn't have Reggie's quickness, but I cant see how he could pass any worse than Ball. Tech's D has been the one consistent thing this season and for them to have any shot I think they'll have to have a score and Tashard Choice will have to have a big game. Personally I think Tech loses by 14-17.

I liked GT originally in this game...still like them without Ball!! Let this line blast up into double digits!! This game reminds me of last years Colorado/Clemson game where Colorado was "supposed" to get blown out without their starting QB and had a back up. The defense kept them in it and they got the cover! I see this game being very similar with Tech's D keeping them in it just enough to get a cover here.....this game will probably be low scoring as Tech's only chance is to play very good defense now without their offensive leader......Just my feeling on it and that's probably the way I'm going. GL!

Bennet will not run out of bounds on 4th down, shy of the first down at the end of the game.

Bennet will not complain to the refs the entire game and talk himself out of his game.

Bennet will not personally be responsible for 3 or 4 turnovers in this game.

Bennet will not be 15 - 51 in completions vs. attempts.

This will force us to use Tashard Choice more, which is a good thing.

Bennet can actually see over the line, so we might have some crossing routes in our game plan, not the typical 10yd outs or the hitch and go routes we've all grown to know as a Tech football fan.

Fitting end to the career of the worst 4 year starting QB in the history of college football.

Happy trails Reggie!

I may not know shit from shiola but I can garantee you that this is a great thing for GT. I have seen many games (not just against my dawgs) that GT has lost because of this arragont idiot. Now I am not a tech fan but I will be on them against wv. Just a couple of facts about ball for you. 1) His completion percentage went down every year while at tech. 2) He had a better completion percentage in his years without calvin johnson:shrug: 3) The "Big" games they won with him at quaterback he averaged less than 40% completions:shrug: Defense won those games. Though there are many more let me just say he is/was garbage and it is good for this team that he is gone. Most "joes" will see the starting quarterback is out and think this is easy win for wv. Not so fast my friend. WV is one demensional going against the best D they have seen all year(imo) and a team that now has a QB that can not only see over the line of scrimmage but also has at least some accuracy and mental concept of how to run the offense. You can say he is green, you can say he is young, and you can even say he has no experience. But by god what you better understand is that he is not Reggie Ball. 24-20 either way(imo) Hate to go against you AR but I love GT here. GL all

Im not sure what member of the GT coaching staff that Reggie Ball had some blackmail info on, but thats the only way that this guy has started for the past 4 years. Calvin Johnson may be the best deep threat in the country and he was basically wasted due to the inability of Ball to throw a spiral. I really have not looked at the WVU matchup in depth, but I would hold off on hammering WVU because GT may be the best overall defense that WVU has faced this year and if Ball's backup can actually throw the ball then he could expose WVU's piss poor secondary.
