no disrespect meant towards Reggie in any way, but i'll be the first to admit that his college punting averages were very *padded* he only had to make the long kicks which kept his numbers high, and Tommy Nichol/Nichols?? was always brought in for the pooch kicks.

have i mentioned how nice it is gonna be to go to all the hawkeye football games again next year? ;)

He was a hell of a punter, thats for sure. What a booming kick he had. That ball would just fly off of his foot. They should cut off his foot and bring it to Canton :scared

I was in shock when i learned reggie had died. Reggie broke my strike out record at charles city in iowa in 1980. He played baseball for east waterloo high in iowa. he was also an excellent pitcher in high school and i am sure he could of played 2 sports if he wanted to. He was also a great high school basketball player. R.I.P. my man, you gave me some great memories and i appreciated your kindness as you became a star in football and never lost fact of who you were and where you came from.

Great story, Arrow. Did you play college ball anywhere?

While I never had the pleasure of meeting Reggie Roby, I am friends with the Haight brothers and Marv Cook, and have heard great stories from those guys about Reggie. They said that if you played at Iowa, it was like you were brothers with anyone who played before or after you, and that if you ever had any questions about anything, you could always go to anyone of them.
And they always said he was one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet--which coming from those three guys is really saying something as you couldn't meet nicer guys than them.

Mama--

When you gonna be back here for good? If you agree to drive me to and from the Hawkeye games, I'll invite you to our tailgate....lol

Reds... June 9th is the day we OFFICIALLY move down (day school ends up here) we will be down MANY times between now and then, since AJ is gonna play little league down there, and just practice and play 3 games with his team up here.

Closing on the house is gonna be March 14, we are gonna move all of our big stuff down on March 29th (or sometime during that spring break week) we're gonna keep minimum things up here.. will stay in our (oops, i mean THEIR) house until the first of May, and then stay in a hotel the last 40 days. we can still keep using the refridgerator, stove, and washer/ dryer at the house until we move to IA for good :D

ummmm....as far as driving to the hawkeye games go.... have you ever talked to anyone from the SB parties if i'm the safest one to ask to drive from a football party? LOL

(Although we could probably take the moter home up! :D ... just another benefit to moving back home ;) )

Sounds like a plan is in place, Annie...

Are you planning on living with Dad, or do you have a place already?

If you are looking, there is one up on 16th for sale....2 houses east of ours and on the north side of the street...looks decent from the outside, haven't been inside, though...

Asuming you wanna live here in the ghetto with us....LOL

Reds, we are moving in with my dad.... couldn't talk him into retiring and moving up here with us (which i thought was necessary until i used bribery with the ex)... dad could definitely use help with the expenses down there, and doesn't hurt at his age not to live alone any more either... geez, he's not gonna know what to do with all his money when he only has to pay 25% of the household bills...LOL (again, this will be used as bribery for borrowing his motor home ;) )

and you're still 2 blocks north of the ghetto, just like i used to be ;)
