Greedy bastages

Greedy bastages

Just amazing what greed does to people. I didn't realize that they could even do that to 2yr olds just prior to the race.

I've seen a good no. of horses that came back from a race with blood running out of their nostrils while I was at the track. It ain't pretty, but I can understand that owners have an investment that would be worthless or inhuman to allow to continue. THAT'S WHAT LASIX and other blood thickeners are for when used properly. Yes, it is not in the best interest for the horse, BUT many, many had fine careers and happy retirements on account of Lasix. It probably kept a number of owners/investors in the game as well.

But those who use it as a PREVENTATIVE measure should be waterboarded with it. You know, those greedy mutha jumpas just inject the animal with it just in case they're bleeders and keep them on it whether they need it or not. Just load it up with racing fuel and gun it down the track and if the engine blows.. so what, it wouldn't have won the race anyway.

Good to read about them doing something about that. Maybe the next step would be to ONLY allow it's use on proven, verified bleeders the way it was used when it was initially approved. I think that is how it was used when all this crap started out.
