Rep. Jackson-Lee Introduces Michael Jackson Bill

As an example of how just irrelevant and silly government has become ? in addition to becoming increasingly tyrannical and authoritarian ? consider a bill introduced in the House: H. Res. 600: A Tribute to an American Legend and Musical Icon, sponsored by Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee of Texas.

Jackson-Lee?s bill proposes a ?tribute to an American legend and musical icon,? Michael Jackson. For some reason it was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Jackson is described as a ?noted humanitarian,? a dominant figure in popular music and the first African-American entertainer to amass a strong crossover following on MTV, a general all-around good guy who supported the NAACP, the United Negro College Fund, Make a Wish Foundation, Give For Life, who donated $500,000 to Elizabeth Taylor?s AIDS Foundation, donated more than 200 turkey dinners to needy families in Los Angeles, etc., ad nauseam.

In other words, Michael Jackson ? like any other celebrity ? did a few good things. However, none of it has anything to do with the business of the people who elected Ms. Jackson-Lee to represent them.

The government should not waste taxpayer money lionizing a ?musical icon.? One wonders how many staffers and how many hours were squandered writing this preposterous ?bill? that is nothing more than a shameless effort to pander to the media circus and feeding frenzy surrounding the death of a washed-up performer who apparently died from a drug overdose (it is said his home was stocked like a pharmacy with sedatives and there are persistent rumors of Jackson?s abuse of Oxycontin and possibly IV medications).

Let the corporate entertainment media concentrate on Michael Jackson. Our representatives should have more important business to deal with.

how convenient that these political pundits forget he was a child molester. Congress needs to tend to more important things than the BCS and the king of pill popping

agree 1000 % , gov should not waste any money or time on MJ but this article must have been written by the liberal media... It has an agenda.. It paints your picture for you, doesn't it ? love him or hate him... this is not the complete story, on this issue, of who or what or the amount of money he gave.... some people have to diminish others in order to feel good . I understand...

My opinion on this, and maybe others share it is, let him go in peace, NO House Resolutions ! The House already held a moment of silence, which is just another moment of them doing nothing !

I will admit he was a great talent, but I was never a fan of his music, however I did profit from his and Janet's tours.

The news networks need to get together and form another channel so they can "Worship" Michael and the next fallen star. There is far more important news to report these days besides Jackos drug habits.

7 SOLDIERS AND MARINES DIED IN AFGHANISTAN THIS WEEK ! NO EXTRAVAGANT CEREMONY HELD FOR THEM ! ISRAEL READY FOR AIR STRIKES ON IRAN ! Chinese Troops Kill 150 in Xinjiang

TIME TO READ THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND US CONSTITUTION AGAIN PEOPLE

To be fair you will not see military deaths played up because the politicians don't want them played up. That goes for both sides.

Sheila Jackson Lee is the lowest form of scum that exists.
She rode Bush's johnson because he was from Texas always siding with him even though she is a huge liberal and had opposite views.
Now she has a double bonus with Obama in that he is black and a democrat.
Don't think for a second she would give a rat's ass about Michael Jackson if he was white.
He was still black in the end, right?

She represents Texas yet I don't know a single person who is proud to say that or who voted for her.

Oh and she seemed to leave off a few that should be noted:
Whereas in June 1993, Michael was accused by a 13 year old boy of touching his penis.
Whereas in 2003, Michael was again accused by a 13 year old boy of child molestation.

Let's not ride Michael Jackson's johnson like we are all 13 year old boys and get a grip on some reality.
It is one thing to honor and praise a man for the good he did which I have zero problems with, but to completely skip over and ignore the bad that exists is asinine.

Saying Michael Jackson didn't touch little boys is like saying you think Barry Bonds didn't take steroids.
When is Sheila Jackson Lee going to come to Barry's defense? His accomplishments were pretty darn big as well.

JORDAN CHANDLER ADMITS HE LIED ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON

Tags: JORDAN CHANDLER ADMITS HE LIED ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON

June 27, 2009

After the sudden death of Michael Jackson, Chandler tells the truth.
In 1993, Chandler told a psychiatrist and police that he and Jackson had engaged in sexual acts that included oral sex, the boy gave detailed description of Jackson?s genitals. The case was settled out of court for a reported $22 million, but the strain led Jackson to begin taking painkillers. Eventually he became addicted.

Now maybe for the remorse of his death Chandler decides to tell us the truth. ?I never meant to lie and destroy Michael Jackson but my father made me to tell only lies. Now I can?t tell Michael how much I?m sorry and if he will forgive me.?
Evan Chandler was tape-recorded saying amongst other things, ?If I go through with this, I win big-time. There?s no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever??

Under the influence of a controversial father who told his son to tell that Jackson had touched his penis. Jordan Chandler then told a psychiatrist and later police that he and Jackson had engaged in acts of kissing, masturbation and oral sex, as well as giving a detailed description of what he alleged were the singer?s genitals.

?Now for the first time I can?t bare to lie anymore. Michael Jackson didn?t do anything to me, all was my father?s lies to escape from being poor.?

His own sister(Latoya) even said he was a pedophile.

And I am sorry but if I was innocent then NO WAY IN HELL would I have ever given him $22 million to go away.
Jackson's unwillingness to fight it and his fascination for young boys is just down right creepy.
Him settling out of court on a child molestation case should 100% be noted in his legacy.

keg im not defending the guy but the reality is that 22 million to him is like a 100 dollars to us. and if this story is true this family deserves to rot in a cell and have every asset taken away from them.

Be it, Michelle Jackson, Phil Spector, Lindsay Lohan, Brittany,Paris or whomever in this TMZ Stargazing world it's just a damn shame that there are this many people that infatuated with the freak show that happens in Holly Wierd or the Rotten Apple. Just imagine if these tools dedicated 1/10 of the effort in research how the Big Bankers are corn holing us or if any of them know that former congress women and Green Party Presidential Candidate Cynthia McKinney was held hostage in Israel after attempting to deliver aid and supplies to the Palestinians. There has been a resounding silence on this issue as CNN, MSNBC and other mainstream media sources rush to give us the latest news on the death of Michael Jackson.

I doubt they will ever get off the bench  So continue to be drug around by your short and curlies and bubble away TMZ morons, roid head, over tattooed dolts ! When the excrement hits the ventilation device, you will crap your pampers in a hot second

Cynthia McKinney held hostage? :mj07:

She was arrested for the 2nd time by Israel after the ship she was on was attempting to break the naval blockade on the Gaza Strip. The Aisle Bird is a big girl and knew exactly what was going on.

http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/dekalb/stories/2009/07/07/mckinney_back_in_US.html

Now if you want to talk about someone being held hostage-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilad_Shalit

Your'e funny ! :142smilie You would be asking someone to pay attention to a "Non Celebrity" for 3 years !

I agree with you, I was taling about the TMZ, MTV crowd whom if you asked them the names, Cynthia McKinney or Gilad Shalit.

Their response would be:

Was she on Big Brother last summer?

about Gilad,

Didn't he used to have that fitness show on ESPN2?
