Longtime CBS Sports college basketball analyst Billy Packer will not return to the broadcast booth next season, according to a report in the Miami Herald.

Packer's streak of announcing 34 consecutive Final Fours will end as CBS has decided not to bring the veteran back after 27 years at the network. Packer got his start at NBC, at different times working with Curt Gowdy, Dick Enberg and Al Maguire.

The Herald said an official announcement of the move is expected Monday, but CBS representative Leslie Anne Wade confirmed the story Sunday night.

Studio analyst Clark Kellogg will take Packer's spot next to Jim Nantz on the lead NCAA tournament broadcasting team next season, according to the Herald.

Listening to Packer for the last several years is going to be very similar to watching the Packers old/new QB for the coming years....
