? Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports Mark Sanchez is no lock to start for the Broncos, but considering the team's bare quarterbacking cupboard, he's an upgrade. Mark Sanchez has reportedly been traded to the Denver Broncos for a conditional pick, per Mike Klis of 9News in Denver.

This shouldn?t rule out a trade for Colin Kaepernick, however.

Sanchez isn?t exactly a lock as a starter. There is a reason he?s been backing up a guy like Bradford, who has been statistically one of the more mediocre quarterbacks in the league since his starting days.
However, even if he doesn?t start for the Broncos in 2016, getting a guy like Sanchez to back up whoever does start is a really smart move by Elway. Having two quarterbacks allowed this team to win a Super Bowl last year.
No doubt Sanchez will be in the mix to compete for a job, though, no matter who comes onto the roster this offseason.

The Broncos aren?t done at quarterback yet, and plan to bring in another player to compete with Sanchez for the starting job, Schefter confirms .

The conditional 2017 pick acquired by the Eagles in the swap is a seventh-rounder, tweets Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. The conditions aren?t yet known, but I would imagine they?ll hinge on Sanchez?s playing time in Denver.

Elway has always liked Sanchez and so has Kubi. Change of scenery and a better offensive scheme may help Sanchez, he's always had the arm, now he just needs to get rid of his happy feet.
