Rarely do I put so much on the line with a road team but I have to in this situation:

Dayton -3 over Duquesne

Teams played just ten days ago. . . Dayton at home cruising to an 11 point lead when one of those unlikely comebacks simply happen. It won't happen again. Dayton simply lost their focus and it happens to the best teams every once in a while. The Flyers MUST win this game. . . 1-1 in the conference and they can't afford to lose to an inferior converence team twice in the same season. Flyers win by double digits

Now on with the rest. . . this year around this time of the season, I'm gonna try a new approach as previous years haven't been such a success in January and February especially. . . instead of simply going by the numbers and anti-consensus picks, I'm looking for spots where I think teams will play their very best to pick up a needed win. Dayton is one, here's my second:

Oregon +3 over Washington State Big. . . only a third of my play on Dayton but still a big play. WSU simply can't keep up on offense to hang with the Ducks. Also, Oregon needs this win to get back in the Pac-10 race as they are 2-2. After the big loss to Washington, this is a game where I expect them to regain their focus and come out with the win. I like the ML at +140 but since WSU is such a low scoring team, I like the 3 points even more.

There's the two big plays of the day even though Oregon pales in comparison to what I have on Dayton.

Now with the home teams. . . five plays, all average:

Arizona -11 over UCLA. . . Lute screwed around with the lineup against USC in a game he knew he would win. I don't expect him to do it again against a Bruins squad that took down ASU on the road.

LSU -3 over Ohio State. . . I said this last year and the few times that Arizona played at LSU: their rims are completely different then anything I've seen. Of course LSU is well used to them.

NAU -12 over Idaho State. . . Lumberjacks will shoot well above 50% at home against this inferior squad

Detroit -5 over Butler. . . two reasons: field goal % and rebounding

Vandy -5 over Florida. . . I'm not a big believer in the Gators especially when they must travel and play against this Vandy team on their home court.

That's all. . . maybe some halftime plays. Really like the card but day will really come down to one game unless I go 4-1 or 5-0 with these home team plays.
