Always here people say "X should beat Y because they want revenge , because Y beat them last time out.

I don't get it. Does Y not think that X is thinking about last game, thereby elevating Y's game to the revenge motivated elevation of X's game???

I think Y doesn't care what X is thinking about. They're probably overconfident because they just beat X.

To me, revenge in the NBA is only significant when its a quick rematch, like a home and home, or no more than 1 game in between, like the Clippers last night. When its that close together, the coach probably rides the losing team harder for its mistakes in the earlier matchup.

Totally agree Valuist. Just don't get the hype...."Pistons beat the Rockets by 20 last game..the Rockets are out for revenge"...

Not a good enough reason to make a play in my opinion.

I think revenge is also a bigger factor when a sub-par team beats a good team. We are talking two of the NBA's finest with Dallas and Indy...revenge, what revenge? Both teams bring their A-game day in and day out. They play with heart unlike some of the other teams in the league. Should be a great game, leaning on Dallas right now.
