A 1 loss LSU ranked ahead of USC? :mj07: The LSU team who has a Strength of Schedule ranked 100 vs USC SOS ranked #4 in the country? (sagarin) LSU lost to the only team they played that was worth a damn. That is why they have a SOS ranked #100 despite playing AUBURN! The same LSU team who has ZERO road wins and only played 1 road game so far? GIVE ME A BREAK!
Isn't USC the only team in the country who has 3 road wins? USC opened the year playing 3/4 on the road AND all 4 teams BCS opponents. Look what happened to Auburn playing on the road vs $hitty team in South Carolina. Look how flat Auburn was playing BUFFALO ($hitty buffalo) at home the week after LSU. What if Auburn played on road against BCS opponent? Hell, what would have happened if Auburn played BCS opponent at home? They played Buffalo. There have been ZERO breaks in USC schedule.
I don't think USC is the best this year. Ohio St. clearly is the #1 team in the country. They have proven it on the field. However, USC IMO is the only team who will beat Ohio St. The USC team now prob. will lose vs OSU but the USC team in Jan. will beat OSU. Remember 2003? That is this years USC team but with more talent and ahead of schedule.
What has Michigan, WVU, LSU :mj07: , and Auburn done that is more impressive than USC? (you have them all ranked ahead of USC)
I think you could make a solid argument for Michigan. They have impressive wins AND impressive SOS. NONE of the teams you mentioned ahead of USC (outside of Michigan) have played a SOS better than #50. WVU and LSU are in the 100's in terms of SOS. OUCH! You also forget winning at home is not nearly as difficult as winning on the road.
Since I criticized your post, I should post my top 10. This is my top 10 as of right now based on performance and schedule. My top 10 is very volatile. All 10 teams listed below have "earned" their rankings.
#1 Ohio St.
#2 Michigan
#3 USC
#4 Auburn
#5 Florida
#6 Oregon
#7 Louisville
#8 Texas
#9 OU
#10 Tennessee
EDIT, I put CAL #10 when I meant TN at #10.
