Shoulda never been in the game past halftime, he was a liability on the field and ultimately may have cost the Redskins that game. On the other hand you cant count out the fact that Shanahan and his douche bag son called a horrible game.

Exactly, I could not understand why he was in the game when he couldn't move. WTF? At the very least Shanahan is supposed to give his team a chance to win. RG3 is great but that is even more reason to get him out of the game. Another BS game.

I agree 100% Stevie, No player is going to take himselfout of the game (except Jay Cutler). RG3 is a great player and great competitor but when that bad snap happened and he just layed there all the questions from the first half injury were answered and the fate of the Redskins was determined.

Rg3 was missing most of the easy crossing routes and swing passes that he has made all season long and was favoring the knee since the end of the 1st qtr. He was not 100%, maybe not even 75%, Kirk Cousins would have given Washington a better chance to win the game in the second half, they needed to continue pounding Morris and hit the occasional crossing route for 1st downs but Griffin was unable to do that, everyone saw it (except the Shanahans) including that Seattle defense.

Just curious how many thought the exact opposite about Cutler and the Bears?
For Cutler and the Bears they were quitters when he took a pain killer at halftime for a torn MCL and couldn't continue but now RG3 tries to play hurt and the Redskins are douche bags for playing him.
If Griffin had "taken himself out", would you praise him or call him a quitter?

It is not up to the player to take himself out, shanahan shoulda seen what everyone else saw. Rg3 is a great athlete, great competitorand he will never quit. Ultimately his inability to hit routine wide open wr's and not being able to move to recover a bad snap cost them the game. I blame Shanahan not rg3 at all.

Exactly, the player has an ego the size of Canada, as he should. But the guy could not move. The coach should have seen this and taken him out. As far as a player taking himself out it doesn't bother me.

Absolute shame what shannahan did.

Put his own selfishness ahead of the team and ahead of a wonderful young athlete (which is hard to find)

HELL
Anyone that has played a sport for the most part knows what it is like to want to compete, and be in there. At worst, by halftime he should have been out of game, as everybody knew he was hurting and not right. Not worth putting his career, and a bright one he has, or the teams future at risk.

lol

well said bgc..rg3(by all accounts) is salt of the earth...a man and an incredible football player...but without his mobility,he`s just not the same....i said during the game that seattle was cheating up on morris and those quick sideline passes and needed a few completed intermediate to deep passes to loosen up seattle....but without his mobility(and what looked like his inability to plant and throw longer passes) he just couldn`t get it done...you could see on several sacks that he looked like he wanted to let it loose but couldn`t pull the trigger...he couldn`t even take a few steps to get out of the pocket to throw passes away....

doesn`t diminish the guy in my eyes..he did what he could...seems that shanny(who is an excellent coach, btw) let him go too long....and their field positions issues in the second half made things doubly difficult......

In the future teams will understand that taking Luck was a much better decision than taking RG3

QBs that have 4.3 speed out of college and base alot of their play on running are going to be targeted and end up with busted knees.

Its so easy for the huge strongest defenders to just rip some knees up on a tackle. It dont take long.

RG3 didnt last a year.

He will never have 4.3 speed again. He will be more like 4.5 or more.

Its sad that football is played this way and it cheats fans out of great players.

If RG3 cant learn to be a pocket passer with limited running for first downs, he will bust out.

I hope he can do it. He is a good person.

Give me Luck for 10 years with no knee issues who just runs occassionally and gets down before taking the big hits.

An injury that sidelines RG3 well into next season is a very real possibility - or at least it seemed that way Monday after coach Mike Shanahan described the results of tests on the rookie's right knee.

The Washington Post reports that Monday's MRI exam suggested Griffin has suffered partial tears of his anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments.

Shanahan said the results are prompting the team to send Griffin to Florida on Tuesday to see renowned orthopedist James Andrews for more examinations, essentially a second opinion that will decide the team's fate for the 2013 season.

''There is a concern,'' Shanahan said. ''That's why he's going to see him.''

The Redskins quarterback might have to undergo exploratory surgery to determine the extent of the damage to his knee and whether the injuries are new, according to the Post.

Griffin tore his ACL while playing for Baylor in 2009, and Shanahan said that old injury caused Griffin's latest MRI to prove inconclusive and produce ''differences of opinion'' in those who have looked at it.

''They want to take another look and have a physical exam with him,'' Shanahan said, ''to make sure they're not looking at old injuries.''

A torn ACL typically requires a rehabilitation period of nine to 12 months, although some players don't return to full health until their second season after the injury. On the other hand, one of this season's most remarkable stories was Adrian Peterson, who returned about eight months after tearing an ACL and nearly broke the NFL's single-season rushing record.

A buddy of mine who is an athletic trainer and knows his shit, said that after a 2nd ACL injury, a player is basically done after that! We will not see RG3 ever be as good as he was the last 2 seasons! Way to go Shannahan!!! SOOOO SAD!!!!!

Shanahan said the kid said he was ok so he left him in. Everyone in America knew the kid was hurt. It's a shame.

I think the skins would have had a better shot at winning with Cousins in to start the second half
but with RG3 telling shanny at half I am HURT not INJURED and still being up 1 I guess I can understand.
It certainly appeared that Seattle would score in the second half with the mo from the second quarter and RG3 couldn't move or throw accurately.

NO way he makes it back for the start of the reg season

Taking him out would have been the same thing as declaring defeat.

He should have been in an ACL brace. It wouldn't have happened then. Why do u think all the linemen wear them?
