Breeders Cup is not my cup of tea. Neither is any of the major races like the Triple Crown. All year long I follow the local call. That is were the money is for me. To many of my friends have lost 1000s trying to 'cap races like the Breeders Cup and the Triple crown like races. Our nose is in the local tracks.

Could you recommend a few books or websites for me to learn the basics of horse racing? I've always just thrown darts but I don't even know where to start my research of the very basics.
My wife and I just committed to joining two other couples to the Kentucky Derby next year. We're already looking forward to it.

The number will vary according to the breed and presence or absence of the first carpal bone in each front knee. Generally, the horse has 205 bones (54 vertebral column, 36 ribs, 1 sternum, 34 skull, 40 front legs, 40 hindlegs). The number of tail coccygeal vertebrae is usually 18 but can also vary.
This supports the muscles, protects the internal organs, and possesses the necessary mobility for the horse to move at various speeds, lie down or graze.
