Rice announces retirement

Rice was only fourth on the depth chart. Jerry Rice didn't get his wish to be Denver's No. 3 receiver, so decided Monday to end his storied 20-year career.

If the 49er's were a class act they would pick him up and let him retire there. Hell, he doesn't even need to be there a day. He can sign for an hour, much like Oakland did with Tim Brown.
