According to the reporter, Mich. president Mary Sue Coleman, wants nothing to do with Jim Harbough and that Hoke is the top choice for her & Dave Brandon. I sure hope they get it right this time.

Michigan is a joke. They should grab their sack and pay Harbough more than anyone else can and will including the NFL. He's PERFECT for that program and if there is a school that should have enough money it should be them. I don't understand these big programs and taking chances on coaches. I like Hoke but he's done ok in an ok league not a big boy league. Why not make a run at someone who has done really well in an ok league? Get your gabillion man alumni and pay some money you cheap asses. Money talks!

Harbaugh wants to coach student-athletes or professionals. He never wanted to go to Michigan

Thunder, I know what you mean but IMO the safest bet for a big school is a guy that's proved he can do it on the big stage and IMO Harbough has done that and done it at a school that's not the easiest to recruit at. Vilinova coach is good but IMO Moore for App State is just as good but age is an issue.

If I was a school pres I would follow UTs lead and pay up for a big time coach and assistant coaches. Look what Brown has done for UT. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure that Mich has a lot bigger base then UT does.

There are so many names and scenarios being dropped on local radio that I don't know what to think anymore. This whole thing is starting to seem eerily familiar to the last time we were looking for a coach and had to go to #3 on the list..........Rich.

Flounder seems very capable.

Hoover: Kent is a legacy, Otter. His brother was a '59, Fred Dorfman.
Flounder: He said legacies usually get asked to pledge automatically.
Otter: Oh, well, usually. Unless the pledge in question turns out to be a real closet-case.
Otter, Boon: Like Fred.

BBC,

Even as bad as Rich Rod was at Michigan, he still beat your ass two out of three times.

I don't consider back to back 4 point wins as an "ass beating". he lost the first one by 18.

I know he was small school guy and very successful one at that but that doesn't mean he was safest bet for OSU. Tressel was the best small school coach and he was also an in state guy so it was a lot easier for them to hire him.

I still think Rich was a big reach. He proved he could run an offense but not d at WV and then same thing happened at Mich. Some of these guys are one trick ponies. They recruit all of their talent on one side and then roll with it. At smaller schools it works and they look good but at big time schools and against big time coaches you have to be solid on both sides of the ball. IMO that's where Harbough differs, his team plays good ball on both sides and he doesn't favor either over the other in recruiting or moving players around.(most of the time RBs, QBs and WRs to the D side of the ball)

Follow Bama and UTs lead, pay money and hire the BEST coach there is not take a reach again. A great coach would pay big time dividends in donations especially with all of those grads be thankful after years of being average.
