I highly doubt it, not saying you have to play to coach either as Saban and Belichek weren't exactly the best football players ever, just look at them. Doubt John Wooden was much at hoops or Celtics cigar smoking Red Auerbach who won like 9 titles in 16 seasons.
However, you better be like BB or NS and just be a freaking genius with 5 Super Bowls and 6 National Titles I believe. Heck, BB was maybe the greatest defensive coordinator when he helped the Giants win the Super Bowl with a backup QB vs Bills in 1991 I believe (year escapes me)... just saying.
BB is one of the greatest coaches ever and having Tom Brady is one of the best deals ever as they both hate to lose period! Kraft as an owner is icing on the cake as he's also very smart and love the way Kraft can booze in wins!
Saban is also a genius, pulling your starting QB at halftime will go down in history as greatest moves ever in 2018! Saban is a mad scientist who was 5'-6" when he played college football and for sure nothing special, but he's a stud now... Alabama should pay him $10M a year since that is the new rate for awesome coaches as well.

Good point, but you used a bad example in WOODEN. Of course, the game was completely different back then, but John was a very good basketball player in his day, including being an All American. :0008
