they both have a way of taking more talented players but losing to a smarter team. you would think barnes would tell his guards not to dribble through the whole west vir team. i love the shot clock management at the end by texas. you take a shot with 8 seconds left on the clock to give west vir time to go down and drain a three.

texas made a lot of mistakes...turnovers...bad shot selection at times (even thought they did shoot around 50% for the game). i'm not expecting perfect play at this point. this team needs some time to get things going...get the bench involved....figure out who is going to be the PG on this team (hopeful Abrahms grows into that role as the season goes on).
this is a time Barnes needs to get a feel for his team. learn from that for the conference season adn the postseason tourney.
i'd rather have this team playing great ball in feb/march than right now.
WVa isnt exactly a crap team either. just missed going to the final 4 last year....they have some great players and very good shooters.

have some faith in Barnes. he's bringing in top players. brought the team to a final 4 (and would have had a very good team last year had LA and PJT been with the team the whole season).

Fact is that Texas basketball stunk pre Penders. Penders turned it into a fun and gun tournament only team.
Rick Fullmer has picked up where Penders left it and taken UT to 1 Final Four and now has a #2 team in the country.
