I'll agree that he's an asshole since he even disrespects a respectful person. I guess he won't be around long enough to get his pension! :nono:

I still don't get what the "skater" kid did in the first video that was so disrespectful.

Just because someone doesn't speak just like you, doesn't mean they are being disrespectful.

The disrespect I saw in the first video was in the kid's behavior and body language as much as the way he spoke to the cop. I perceived his behavior as "talk to the hand" when he walked away when he was being addressed by the cop. He, then, proceeded to impatiently tap his skateboard on the sidewalk; talked back when told to shut up and kept calling the cop "Dude" even having been told that it was inappropriate. Even his friend saw that he wasn't behaving appropriately and told him to shut up.

No-one appreciates being treated dismissively, particularly by a 14 year old. If I'd acted the way he did when I was growing up, I'd probably have really pretty chiclet-like teeth right now.

Those reasons are absurd. He has no right to touch that kid in any way shape or form or even scream at him the way he did. The kid can project any body language he wants, as long as it is non threatening. Tapping a skateboard is 100% legal. Anyone can call a cop dude..& that cop cant hit you because of it. I am glad everyone has videocamera's now. YouTube should at least keep a few wayward cops in check.

I also think this is ludacrous. The cop was intentionally making the kid nervous as hell. The kid was trying to remove himself from the situation. I see a scared kid from a prickhead cop that thinks he has the right to bully because of his badge.

If your parents treated you like this, then that may be why you feel it is okay.

It seems to me that you think this guy deserves respect. The cop is the classless punk in this particular situation. Which he proved again in the other video submitted.

I love old people who think the good old days were these peachy keen times from memories past. They're the same times. We are just older now. And we see more of other people's skeletons.

You can not rule human beings with the fist. We are intelligent beings and deserve to be treated as such. The kid is an American citizen. I am paying the phuckhead my hard earned tax dollars to SERVE us. He is completely out of line.

I know for a fact he would not have talked to this kid like this if his parents were around because he is a bully. And bullies only bully people who fear them.

Let me apologize for my tone, VANurse. This video really sickens me. I don't like people who abuse power.

I relate this to parents who turned a blind eye on the Catholic priest scandals. There were many scared children that would not say anything because they were supposed to respect someone of the cloth.

Being Catholic, I took this whole situation personally. I don't think this represents my faith as a whole. And fortunately I don't know of anyone who was personally affected.

But this cop is the same type of beast as those priests, imo.

I completely disagree that calling the cop dude is inappropriate. I also dont think his friend saw him as behaving inappropriately either as much as his friend just telling him to shut up so they didnt get in trouble.

Dawg: I fully agree with you about people who abuse power and, having seen the 2nd video, I agreed that the cop is an asshole. I don't believe that a cop should put their hands on anyone unless it's in self defense or in process of an arrest.

On the other hand, I am sickened by the behavior I see exhibited on a daily basis by some members of our youthful society. I wasn't abused by my parents but they didn't coddle me, nor believe that I was an innocent little angel who could do no wrong, either. I was speaking figuratively about the teeth but I knew to respect elders. If I got into an altercation with an adult when I was 14, you can bet I would have been punished. I would never have considered cussing an adult, even in anger. On more than one occasion I've been on the receiving end of a "**** you" from a snot-nosed brat and I don't like it one bit! Respect is the key word here.

Yes, it IS difficult to respect someone who acts as that clown did but his badge demands that you, at least, pretend you do. It's just as easy to say "Yes ma'am" or "yes sir" as it is to call someone "Dude" and it won't get you into nearly as much hot water, especially when dealing with a guy like this!

If I was Officer Fatfuk/Dude, I'd probably be in a pissed off mood too. I'm sure his fellow officers abuse him on a daily basis as they watch him drive off to protect and serve in his Power Wheels Police Car.

This is a very interesting blog entry by a retired Charm City officer who used to work with this guy!
Apparently this fellow has been a "piece of work" for awhile and doesn't save his attitude for intimidating the kids.
buzoncrime

I also came across another video of several youths who stated that "Officer Dude" came at them with a taser!

If there's a chance that he remains on the force, I'll bet there's an anger management refresher in his future!

On further investigation I'll amend my initial opinions. He is a jerk!! Please pass the humble pie.... with whipped cream.
