Tarkanian wasn?t the type to back down, and he always scrapped and fought. Even when his health failed him in the latter years of his remarkable life, he showed a willingness to fight in a hospital intensive care unit.

He was 84.

RIP !

Nothing makes me feel like I'm getting old faster than watching some of my idols pass. It's happening at an alarming clip too. Tark and Sifford were local legends here.

RIP Tark

A true mover and shaker in the hoops world, but more importantly, treated people equal and wanted nothing but what was right for everyone he was ever associated with!

Reggie Theus really loved him as did all of his former Rebel players and at LBS and Fresno!

A classic in every sense of the word!

you can find some flaw to pick out in all the ncaa coaching greats - smith, tark, boeheim, knight, rupp - but beyond all their accomplishments or shortcomings, they all had one thing in common: their players loved them just about to the man, and credited them for their success in life.

Saw a quote today by Tark in the Pittsburgh Trib....."I loved transfer players especially the ones from the PAC 10. Their cars were already paid for." :0008
