Yeah, 3 of our cats are now 17, 18, and 19. The 19-year old may actually be the healthiest of all 3 and she's been constantly congested most of her life. Her breathing sounds like a baby elephant. The 17-year old was just diagnosed with a detached retina 2 days ago, and now we think the other one may have detached, because suddenly she's basically blind. Walking into walls... struggling with stairs (we have a split-level ranch, so it's all stairs)... it's so sad. They also diagnosed her with high blood pressure, which can cause the retina to detach. So she's on blood pressure meds now, and the hope is her retina(s) will reattach in a few weeks. In the meantime... it's gonna be a tough few weeks.
Oh, and the 18-year old gets steroids every other day for her Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
So, yeah, no travelling for us. I'm hoping for a Vegas trip in December, but she'd stay home.
Anyway... you fatten up the squirrels and chipmunks to give to the fox, don't you?? Smart!
