I disagree. Recruiting rankings are not a "be all end all", but it's rare that you see a program that's successful at the highest level w/o highly rated recruiting classes.

The rankings I like the best are Phil Steele's composite rankings. He averages out 9 or 10 services. Tends to be a much better indication of talent levels on each team.

No doubt in my mind. Bama has taken control of in-state recruiting, and will be in the SEC west hunt in the near future. Seems like Aub and Bama are heading in different directions.

With the exception of this year, Tennessee has always had a top 10 if not a top 5 recruiting class.

Has been a long time that they finished in the top 10, much less, top 5
