TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State quarterback Chris Rix was declared ineligible for the Nokia Sugar Bowl on Tuesday for failing to take a final exam. He will not play against Georgia on Jan. 1.
Rix regained his starting job Nov. 30 against Florida after Adrian McPherson was kicked off the team and led the 9-4 Seminoles to a 31-14 win over the Gators.
McPherson was kicked off the team Nov. 25 for his involvement in a check writing scam that led to arrest on felony and misdemeanor charges the next week.
Rix did not practice with the team Tuesday.
