Isn't this typically a 4-6 wk injury? I mean Christ I saw that ankle bend flat to the ground,he will be 50% at best, and if the get a chance accidentally step on it.:toast: not suh stomping but a liitle accident

yea, one little twist or tweak during the game and you've got to imagine he'll be done for the day

He will likely be active for the game but he's far from being anywhere close to 100%...a high ankle injury like his almost always takes 4-6 weeks to recover and play at a high level...it's the type of injury that you can't get shot up to numb the pain...the injury will hamper his ability to plant and cut and also keep in mind that his ankle will have a huge bullseye on it for Giant defenders.

I think this will be key. Remember what they Giants said last week about targeting kyle willians with big hits after he had sustained multiple concussions this season.

Walking, getting off the bus, practicing....much different than playing the game.

FirstnGoal is 100% correct in his analysis. High ankle sprains take at least that much if not more. It can only get worse, but this is the last game, so I understand him trying to go. He makes one awkward cut, slip, etc. it will not be good.

What this says to me is bet big on Hernandez and Welker, both in receptions and yards. I also think we could see BJGE get some catches out of the backfield.

I think we are all taking into consideration that belichek would around around by not being honest on gronk. I personally think he is healthier then they are leading on.

From Rotowire:

A league source tells Profootballtalk.com Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (questionable, ankle) will play in Super Bowl XLVI against the Giants.
Gronkowski will be active, but the question remains whether and to what extent he?ll be effective. Playing just two weeks removed from an injury that typically sidelines players 2-4 weeks, he remains at risk of re-injury. Agent Drew Rosenhaus said he expects Gronkowski to be at considerably less than peak capacity, and that he wouldn't be playing this week if it wasn't the Super Bowl. Feb 5 - 9:13 AM

2 rec, 26 yds, 3 tgts, pats lose

Guess his injury was much more of a factor than most thought...

When the Giants were covering him with a linebacker the Pats should have taken him out. He wasn't even a decoy.

..........................................................

we need to remember this in the future when they are telling us the player will play

Same as Pouncy last year.

you have to assume not being 100% means big trouble for gamblers if you are counting on them

high ankles take much longer to heal
