COLORADO ROCKIES +185 ? I feel that this is a shot worth taking at these very generous odds. Thomson has been hit hard his last couple of starts, but Coors Field has once again become Coors Field, as the infamous Humidor has lost its effect as the weather has gotten hotter. However, simply refer to Mike Hampton last night to see what could happen when the Colorado pitchers go on the road. Coors and all, Thomson still has a good 1.31 WHIP on the season, and he held the Dodgers to just 2 runs and 3 hits in 8.1 innings the last time he faced them. Throw in the fact that the Rockies are playing very good ball right now, having won their last 5 games in a row, and this looks like a very juicy underdog at this price. Granted, Odalis Perez has been pitching out of his mind, but I look for this hot Colorado club to scratch out a couple of runs against him, and for Thomson to approach his excellent last effort vs. LA now that he is pitching at sea level.
