The 65th Square
question for the experts

question for the experts

in the rockies game

man on 2nd and 1st two outs

ball hit to outfield

and they don't send the runner

they are up 4 to 2

it would have been a close play

of course with bases loaded nothing happens and they don't score

i say why not send the runner

if you are 50 50 to score that is still way better than say a 300 hiiter up to the plate

where you are 30 percent or so to score if he gets a hit

it wasnt like they were behind and needed to not take a chance

i see this happen all the time

who has an answer?

I agree. Unless the runner is obviously going to be out by 10 feet or more, I think you send him. Much better odds of scoring than having the next guy get a hit as well. Throw can be offline, catcher can drop the ball, etc...
