Guess he is too worried about denouncing global warming in which he calls the scientists "crazy" or the idea of it "lunacy." Yet says that the earth's warmup is probably due to "sunspot activity or "something in geologic eons of time." I guess because Ron Johnson owns some businesses we should believe that his scientific opinions should be validated.

The fact is Wisconsin's a swing state from a voting standpoint. However, Wisconsin's always been a progressive state in terms of public policy.

I'm not sure how much a Senator plays a role in state specific business initiatives, but the evidence is clear that the change in direction in WI, becoming a solid red state, has certainly changed the business environment. Since 2010, WI has jumped 17 spots in the rankings below - which is reportedly the fastest climb in this survey's history:

Compare that to Democratic states such as Illinois and California - 2 of the 3 worst states for business climate in the US.

Feingold's main problem was being seen as way too liberal (which he is). Outside of Madison, the rest of our state is not liberal. Normally, WI is center-right, although currently it is much more right than center, based on 2010 voting patterns.

Also, Feingold was a career politician, with no real business experience or accomplishments of note. Not the right type of guy to lead in todays world of excessive government spending. Johnson has run successful businesses, and understands better what it takes to be successful period. Feingold was too busy adding to our debt by voting for new spending and entitlements.

Funny, you never heard Feingold's name in WI anymore - nobody misses him. It would be nice to get rid of Kohl next - but his name recognition of Kohl's department stores and being owner of the Bucks is too much to overcome - there are too many sheep that vote for him based on that. Heck, Aaron Rodgers could run for office in WI right now and would win in a landslide......

As you can see from the survey, WI is in much better shape under the leadership of Walker and Johnson that it was previously under the "leadership" of Doyle and Feingold. And we are all thankful for that.

Didn't your guy Obama spend more in 2 years as president than Bush did in his full 8 years, and more in 2 years than our first 41 presidents did???

Then I would suspect by this survey, we should have more businesses coming to WI along with less leaving the state. We should then expect to see unemployment numbers drop. Hopefully the businesses brought in are higher paying jobs.:0corn

I hope the companies that are receiving tax breaks actually hire more people or spread the wealth instead of line their pockets. Be interesting to see what happens. I will give them a chance but I want to see the results in the next 6 - 18 months.

We don't know that for sure Mags. I guess we can say that the outline is better for more businesses to come or stay but we do not know exactly what the existing businesses will do with tax breaks. If the businesses pocket the money instead of redistribute, then we are worse off.

BP - I agree here. I realize that Walker has been divisive to the state (even though I back him). If his strategy works, and brings more jobs, decreases taxes, and balances the budget, he is a hero.

If his approach doesn't work (and it was a political gamble, no doubt), he'll be out on his butt.

He reminds me a lot of Mr. Daniels from Indiana, who has been very successful there (although Walker probably lacks Daniel's tact in going about his business)

That is for sure. I am willing to give this regime their chance. I just have little confidence in all politics. It's just a waiting game.

BP - I agree again! Never thought Feingold wasn't a good man. Just not a good politician for WI - was unable to balance his lefty leanings with sound economic policy.

But honestly, Feingold was a better senator than Kohl, who is basically an empty skull at this point in time. It is a shame that Kohl will get easily re-elected instead of Feingold. Even I would have preferred Feingold over Kohl. Although I did not like Feingold's left view, at least his thoughts and rationale were usually well thought out - even if I didn't agree with his point of view.

Herbie basically has no clue - and I've talked to him many times about politics at Buck's season subscriber events. Just a blank stare - not unlike someone in a trance.
