ummm...how many time does he think he's going to start a drive near midfield???
he doesnt have the lead so at somepoint he needs to turn that field position into points......on 4th and 1 from the 45 why he punted is beyond me......where is the 4th down play action pass or bootleg for a first into fg range
his trading of punts has led to stan now at midfield with an easy chance at the cover + possible 2 score lead and easy win.
he goes for 4th and 1 at the 45 and doesn`t get it it,he might be down two scores right now....it`s all speculation and second guessing...
Anyone else hear Musberger call Gary Andersen "the young man?" Guy is 48 years old! And here I was no longer going to be a young man when I hit 35. Nice to know I have at least 13 more years of being a young man to old fossils like Brent.

at some point, stan is going to put together a drive...maybe just for a few first downs but the field will be flipped.....and viola, that's exactly what happened
ofcourse it`s second guessing...
neither team was doing shit....and alvarez knows that he couldn`t afford to give up that kind of field position with that much time left....
and they`re STILL down 1 score.....with a real shot at winning as a dog......
it`s so easy to criticize...wisky`s playing very well here...
personally i hope stanford hangs on(i have -1 2nd half)....but i don`t have any issues with what alvarez is doing...he has a chance to win with 5 minutes left...
