Why was Rothlisberger playing and don't say because they had a week off next week and he needed to maintain his timing. The alternative of him spending the two weeks in a hospital doesn't seem much better.Crazy Tom Coughlin pulled Eli at the half when I'm sure word got to him about what happened in Pitt.If it were my team,my qb there would be no doubt the guy earned a rest,it what teams used to play for, making the playoffs and getting arest so your best would be available for the championship of your sport, not to help beat the Browns in the last game. And please,if you haven't ever played as college football game, much less pro, where you feel literally like you were in a car wreck the next day, don't tell me it doesn't matter.

Bc the offense has looked like hell. And look at what happen to the Colts 3 years ago. 1st rd bye, didn't play starters in week 17, then they got drilled by the Steelers in 1st Rd. Totally agree that all starters should have played Sunday.

Then you must now feel its better for BR to be recovering from his injuries than to be resting.Maybe being beat up is why the offense looks so bad.Do you think he'll play better all shittied up from his injuries now that you got your wish and played him?Where did you play college ball,Lee?Because if you didn't you can't even imagine how bad BR feels today, and you can't imagine how good he'd have felt in two weeks if he'd rested.Practice helps an offense, not just a game.I was a three year starter and made all league for two years at Penn '72 73 74 playing Dtackle.Even dishing out the punishment makes it a challenge to walk the next day.

Not that it's all Tomlin's fault; the players lobbied hard to be allowed to play as much as possible, citing too much rest as a potential issue. Even Pro Bowler Troy Polamalu sneaked back into the game after Tomlin thought he had pulled him to avoid possible injury.

"We rested last year and it didn't get us anywhere," Hines Ward stated, referring to last year's layoff against the Ravens. The Steelers went on to lose to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the playoffs that year.

"Sit all the guys out, now you've got us at three weeks, and you get some rust."
