I know I'm biased when it comes to my team but I try to give credit where credit is due. Duke stepped it up, the big three got their points for the devils but no one could have predicted DeMarcus Nelson putting in 16. Duke wanted it more and it showed. Shelden was kept more in check than I thought, Sean certainly was one of the lone positive notes.

Negative things I saw for the Tar Heels. Raymond Felton...2 assists. That can't happen. The question is does he just play poorly in big situations or was the defense that good? In this case tonight a little of both. McCants continues to be the headcase on this team. Sometimes I feel like he is a cancer on the floor regardless of the few games he puts in big numbers. It's okay not to hit shots but it's another thing to not play defense and let ewing drain open 3 after open 3. Jawad Williams....where have you been the last 4 games? Sean, hell of a game, Marvin played strong and Jackie Manuel played very well.

This team can't win big games that aren't at home. I can't remember the last "big" win we've had that wasn't in the Dean Dome. To not get a shot of is inexcusable, it looked like they were looking for a screen that was cracked and they shit the pot. If I"m coach I tell Raymond to penetrate and try to pick up the foul or dish it...he had done it easily all night. Maybe those folks in Lawrence were right...Roy can't win the big ones.

Once again props to Duke, unlike a few on here I'm man enough to eat crow and give the enemy their dues. This was painful to type, I'm gonna go drink a few brews and wallow in my misery.

i think Duke's defensive skills may have been under-estimated.. on their home turf they did play inspired and the defense was able to minimize and confuse NC

One of the few times I have been really impressed with a loss........

Duke shot 40% from 3 point range and hit 10...wont happen again
Despite 22(wow) to's,... NC still could have won and remember I think it was Felton who made only 1 of 2 a with like 2:30 left......
I say this game will help NC to go on and win it all and they will beat Duke the next 2 times they play if Duke makes the ACC final........I think this NC team is really turning the corner despite this loss.........

why didn't NC call time out to get set up ?

I thought they still had one time out left.

They did, and I'm not sure.

In post-game chat Roy said he called the same play that we won on against UCONN last year at home on the last possession. The play has 4 different outlets...Raymond picked up the dribble and that was it.

Saint.........one thing that really bothered me with this game and its also the reason Roy lost to syracuse in the final a few yrs back with Kansas.......

I dont care if you have to give up a few fouls or layups.........YOU HAVE TO TELL YOUR GUYS TO GET OUT A GUARD THE 3 POINT LINE...Going into this game I would have thought top priority would be to get in the faces of Ewing and Reddick....Its just almost impossible to win game when you get outscored 30 to 9 from the 3 point line.......even if they make the guy with the ball put it on the floor then they at least they have to shoot or dish........I think they will correct this problem at Chapel Hill
