COWBOYS -7.5

It doesn't get more public than New York +7.5 on Sunday. This one will be easy. Cowboys win by at least two touchdowns, with or without Owens.

Good luck!

I don't know Wise about your pick. I'll try to explain my thoughts. Owens being out would cripple this offense and Dallas has really sucked down the stretch. I also believe the G-men will get pressure on Romo with their solid defensive line and cause some mistakes by Tony Simpson... sorry, I mean Jessica Romo. It's also VERY tough to win and cover 3 times vs. the same team in a season.

My guess is Dallas wins, but they don't cover. However, the G-men money line has to be tempting considering they're 8-1 on the road with their last loss @ Dallas in week #1. Eli actually looked fairly good @ Tampa Bay and Jacobs is a beast and should have a big game vs. Dallas. When was the last time Dallas even won a playoff game? Dallas hasn't won a Playoff game since 1996 and Phillips has NEVER WON a playoff game.

Just some things to consider, but Owens being out would crush the Cowgirls. Dallas only beat Carolina by 7 points a couple weeks ago.

One last thing is TO didn't even show up at practice on Wednesday and the Cowgirls haven't proved they're a top notch offense without him.:0corn

I agree DD.

Even if TO plays, he wont be the weapons-grade version that makes this O click. If he can't magnetize defenders his way, or go up top, this offense is in trouble. That affects big play capability, helps neutralize Witten, and squeezes ability to run the ball. Its all on Romo to make plays avoiding the pass rush, and he has shown a propensity for turning it over without a healthy Owens. I don't think Hurd/Crayton are any better than the NYG secondary......they can be handled.

Big mystery, this game, but 7+ pts seems like way too much to me.

That bold part is completely false. You need to get some better sources for your information. TO was at practice & participated in a limited fashion while continuing his rehab. He didnt do anything during the MEDIA portion of practice. Listen to some of the players pressers, they tell you about Owens & his participation. Unless they are all lying, then I am wrong.

Its seems Dallas is playing games w/ the Media on this one, but its not quite working.

I have a some questions about your thinking...

First why should Jacobs have a big game? He didnt in the first two & the Dallas D has only improved. I realize he got hurt game 1, he averaged less the 4 yards a carry in the two games combined.

Dallas beat Eli 2x already & neither game did they have both starting CB's. Game 1 no Newman, Game 2 no Henry.

Why will Romo all sudden be under pressure from the NYG D-line if they didnt get pressure on him in the 1st two games? Dallas has no injuries on the O-line w/ Gurode being back for this one.

Game 1: 345 yards 4 TDs 1 INT 1 Sack

Game 2: 247 yards 4 TDs 1 INT 1 Sack

2 sacks in 2 games & now he is going to be under immense pressure magically? :mj07:

Both games double digit Cowboys win btw.

You mention TO MAY be out, although all indications from with-in are he is playing, (Wade can't even keep a straight face in his pressers when talking about it), but no mention of NYG being w/o Shockey who has been their best offensive player vs Dallas since he presents match up issues for #31.

He had 17 catches for 170 yards in the 2 games. Yet you dont mention his loss??

NYG will also possibly be without a starting CB & their starting center. I guess these losses are just insignificant cause they arent Cowboy injuries.

Dallas has added Terry Glenn to mix as well...can only help the offense. No mention of this either.

Lastly if it is so hard to beat a team 3x why when the matchups have happened has the team that won the 1st 2 games won the 3rd one over 65% of the time?

Are you sure you are looking this one clearly??

The line only being at -7.5....

The line only being at -7.5....

Is still a gift. No one knows if Owens will play or not yet. Terry Glenn will be at full strength. Romo will be focused, this is the playoffs and I'm sure he doesn't want a repeat of last year. Probably spending time in Kabo the week before with Simpson was the best thing for him. Also, I'll take Romo over Eli any day of the week. Dallas O and D Line are well rested and at full strength again. Giants going to play in Dallas. Dallas beats these guys by an average of 10.5 points in their first 2 games of the season. So many variables favor Dallas here.

Fellas, I really appreciate you posting your thoughts on this game in my thread. I feel obligated to show some reciprocity.

First of all, let's talk about the Boys' pass rush, one of the best in the league. Don't you think Eli will be under pressure on Sunday? Eli makes poor decisions under pressure, like most quarterbacks. Also, what are the chances he will play well for the second week in a row on the road? Maybe it's just me, but I don't trust the guy as far as I could throw him!

Secondly, there was no mention of the Boys' bye week. Time off is huge at this point in the season, especially when your opponent played a road game the week before in a different time zone. Not to mention, the Giants are more banged up than Dallas right now.

Last but not least, don't think for a second TO won't play. Say what you want about the guy, but he is one of the fiercest competitors you will ever see. He will play on Sunday, and he will play well, just like he did in the Super Bowl for Philly. If he's so injured, why has the line moved from 7.5 to 9 at some books?

It's been a long time since the Boys played a playoff game, they're at home, they're rested, and that place will be electric on Sunday. The line opened at 7.5 for a reason. Dallas rolls on Sunday!

Dallas 34
Giants 17

Good luck to all of you!

Anyone who thinks Owens wont play and play well is fooling themselves. Too big of a spotlight for T.O. to be left out. Hes an egotist and this is where he shines. Dallas Dline will make Eli shit his pants this weekend. All the squares on the Giants for thier big win against who? The Bucs? LOL

CHARGERS +8.5

There's no way I'm taking both favorites on Sunday! Since I like Dallas, I'll back the Bolts in the other game. It's never a good idea to bet the defending Super Bowl champion in the playoffs the following year (overvalued). San Diego will run the ball to keep Peyton and company off the field. I'll take my chances with a guy named LT. Manning said the 6 picks won't be in his head come Sunday, but come on, how can he erase the memories from that game completely? Trust me, it will be in the back of his head somewhere. I think Merriman and Phillips will put some pressure on Peyton. Also, the Chargers have the advantage in special teams. Sproles will return one for a touchdown on Sunday. San Diego won the last time it visited Indy, and the Colts played poorly the last time they had a bye in the playoffs. I like San Diego's chances for the straight up win, so I will gladly take the generous 8.5 points.

Good luck!

Good luck Wise!!
I like Dal as well. I don't have faith in Eli to play well on the road against a pressure D. That is where he would dump to Shockey:nono:
Dal by 10pts

On the other side of the Chargers but best of luck to us!!

So Cal
Whats all the "public" talk about. IMO the Dallas Cowboys are the most popular
team in the NFC.

I talked about the game with some friends and
co-workers and they all said they would lay -8.5. Never a second thought about it from any of them.

IMO Dallas is the public play.

FWIW I think Dallas wins , but they don't cover.

May be wrong here Wise, or have bad information, or misunderstanding you-but I am seeing Chargers as a public dog as well. If that is the case, then would that run counter to playing Dallas based on NY being a public dog?
Just curious here, not trying to be a jackass.
Thanks

Not based on the information I use. I see a large percentage of side action on Indy. I have the public dogs in this order:

Giants
Seahawks
Jaguars

In my opinion, one of these dogs will cover.

Good luck!

I dont agree. Ofcourse its pick the winner or not but like it or not there is a certain ammt of truth to the suggestion that the public money loses more than it wins. I believe certain games are influenced by the men in stripes. How could you not believe after what we see every year especially come playoff time. I like dallas cause there is a huge % of public betting the Giants.
