I think it goes Alford, Marshall, then Archie. I do know he's waiting for a prime job and not just going to take an upgrade. I think he's going to follow the same path brother Sean did. Biggest difference these loyal "mid-major" coaches are seeing is when they get injuries/misc it's tough to overcome(UD played this year without 2 key players). Elite programs get their talent pick and can overcome those type of losses.

I honestly think Archie is waiting on the OSU job. Matta's time is over and his health is playing a factor as well.

he will do well at osu, matta can't have more than 1 year left.

Self. Widely regarded as one of the best. Made literally 0 adjustments in game when Oregon dictated the pace and his inconsistent shooters couldn't hit.

I'll take Roy. Since he's been at UNC they rarely lose when it counts most, to an inferior team. Self has quite the list of short finishes and early exits.

I would typically take Self over Roy, but tonight was brutal and Roy has an extra title.

1. Coach K - without a doubt
2. Izzo - Sure one title, but he's awesome and made how many Final 4's, like 7ish?
3. Calipari - Only One National title, but final 4 at 3 schools including Mass, yes, Umass???
4. Roy Williams - Might win 3rd this year and might be weak at X's & O's, but great coach. How many Final 4's as well? Good Dude as well.
5. Self - Tough argument now, but 13 straight Big 12 titles, wow! Self just has his teams choke when it matters most in NCAA tournament... thank God for Mario Chalmers Miracle!
6. Pitino - Only coach with national titles at 2 different schools and tied with Coach Calipari for 3 Final 4's with 3 schools right... Great coach overall!

Who else? I love Jamie Wright, but not in this list.

Just goes to show my original point, it's hard to win these suckers!

I'm sorry but no list could I ever put Cal above Roy/Self. Calipari def the best recruiter, but he'd be pretty close to 10 on my list.

1 game to win, I take Izzo...that guy just knows how to win 'em, but is constantly under manned when it counts most.

Roy pulls the senior, Hicks, and puts in the Soph hot hand Maye.

Cal pull the hot hand Soph Humphries, and puts in the Senior Willis.

Cal

Oh wow. I work with a die hard Michigan fan from Michigan who wanted him fired this year after that OSU loss :142smilie

With the 2 college coaches at both Mich st and Mich in football and basketball, I'd think sports talk radio would be boring.....Hard to think another state can compete with their coaching ability. :0008
