ROYALS/BLUE JAYS Under 9 -115 ? Paul Byrd continues to be one of the biggest surprises in baseball this season, as he is now 14-8 with a 3.45 ERA and an outstanding 1.10 WHIP while pitching for a team that is 24 games under .500. He is coming off of an impressive performance vs. the mighty Yankees in which he allowed just 2 runs (1 earned) and 8 hits in 9 innings in a game that the Royals lost 3-2 in extra innings. He also owns a Complete Game victory over these Blue Jays on July 29, when he allowed only 1 run on 5 hits while walking no one. The Under is a very profitable 16-9 in all of Byrd?s starts. Walker has managed to go 5-3 for the Jays with a 4.76 ERA. His only start vs. the Royals wasn?t terrible, as he allowed 3 runs and 7 hits in 5 innings in a 13-4 Toronto romp on July 30. That start was in Kansas City, and the Royals? offense is much worse on the road, where they are averaging a poor 3.60 runs per game with a terrible team batting average of .230. Worse pitchers than Walker have held Kansas City in check on the road this year, so I expect a very low scoring game.
