KANSAS CITY ROYALS +100 ? Shockingly, the Royals are arguably the hottest team in baseball right now, as they have won 10 of their last 11 games! Granted, this streak has been accumulated vs. some very soft competition, but why can?t they keep it going vs. another cream puff opponent in Detroit, especially as a mild underdog? Jeff Suppan has been solid this year, posting an 8-7 record with a losing team with a very good WHIP of 1.22. He has been hit hard in his last 2 starts, but that was vs. the more offensively potent Angels and White Sox. Remarkably, Suppan has not allowed an earned run in each of his last 2 starts in Detroit, a span covering 16 innings. Mark Redman actually has a better ERA than Suppan, at 3.46, but he is still just 5-9, due to a lack of run support. Sadly, he doesn?t figure to get much support again tonight, especially if Suppan comes even close to his last 2 efforts at Comerica Park. Also, Redman did not fare well in his only other start against the Royals this year, allowing 6 earned runs and 10 Men on Base in 6 innings.
