Glad the Royals won today, but their bullpen is awful and a lot can be blamed on their starting pitchers being terrible Since the All Star Break and the SP's rarely go deep or into even 7th inning.
The Royals trade of Wade Davis for Soler from Cubs since he's buried in the minors to save money looks so awful.
They gave away a lot of money to acquire players at the trade deadline in Melky Cabrera, lost Travis Wood's awful contract by paying it is my understanding, but they had one of the top 3 closers in the game signed for 2017 in Wade Davis for $10M+/-.
Granted, Greg Holland wanted to sign with the Royals as well, but they couldn't afford both and thought Holland was high risk coming off Tommy John surgery and obviously Rockies have been rewarded by gambling on him.
Royals had 2 of the top 5 closers in the game arguably and now they are closers with the Cubs & Rockies. Should have kept Wade Davis and probably let Holland walk as he was higher risk, but instead have a bottom 5 bullpen now. Realize bullpen had been hot, but has to be worst in baseball past 17 game approximately
