Report: Avs would send Tanguay, Skoula to Boston

The Colorado Avalanche reportedly are interested in acquiring Bruins defenseman Kyle McLaren and forward Martin Lapointe, offering forward Alex Tanguay and defenseman Martin Skoula, according to The Denver Post and Boston Globe.
The Toronto Sun has reported both the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs are insterested, as well. The Rangers have reportedly offered Eric Lindros to three teams -- the Bruins, for McLaren and Lapointe, and two Western Conference teams. The Leafs were reportedly interested in the same pair for Bryan McCabe and Alyn McCauley, but McCabe's broken foot has negated the possibility.
McLaren, a restricted free agent who has yet to play this season, has asked to be traded after a second consecutive injury-plagued season.
''His injuries his last couple of years have been very difficult for him. I think that's the basis of it,'' Bruins general manager Mike O'Connell said during training camp.
The defender turned down Boston's qualifying offer of $1.755 million.
McLaren was suspended during the playoffs for a check that put Montreal's Richard Zednik in the hospital with a broken nose, concussion, cuts on his face and a bruised throat.
The Bruins are currently leading the Northeast Division, while the Avalanche are third in the Northwest.
