If Peyton throws that Int, the world is over and he is a choke artist.

Russ throws losing INT, and its carrols fault and the play calling is the reason it happened

Shouldn't wilson have seen the DB in a position to make a play? Didn't he throw it in a spot where the defense was?

I mean, i 100% run thr ball 3 times there, but they didnt....that said, with the decision to throw, they have the right play call there.. They just needed a different throw....right?

I hate richard sherman and for that reason am glad seattle lost....

I just find it odd how its so diffeeent when discussing and comparing different qbs.

Not one discussion today have i heard russ mentioned...all about carroll and the play calling. ...

Brady or manning throw that, they get destroyed

Just curious if anyone else thought similar

In my mind he probably should have seen the db in position to at least break that pass up.

However tenure mitigates this for me. What is this Russ' 4th yr? Versus Brady or Manning who have been pros for the better part of 2 decades :popcorn2

To goinshotgun to throw down there goes against what they do. If your gonna pass cause the goal line defense is in go to your strength read option you think defense would have sold out on lynch? Than fake the handoff you have wilson to run or throw.

My opinion is that this is his first big loss, if he plays poorly or makes more mistakes down the road he will get the similar Manning treatment, Manning lost quite a few postseason games before i recall much of the choker talk.

I thought it was a decent throw, that's the design of the play, Butler made a fantastic play, apparently from some good coaching and scout team practice which may be what sets NE apart from many teams, you don't really here much talk about it but they seem to be prepared better than most teams, and no not the spygate sour grapes that's as old as the day is long.

When you look at the play and freeze it or slow mo, as he starts to throw lockett looks open and you're thinking TD but the speed with which these guys break on is the difference, great defensive play as opposed to bad throw IMO.

Very true.......Not me though.......He threw a game ending interception in the super bowl.

In my book he gets all the blame....PERIOD!

I`m not blaming the play call that wasn`t.......No way.

Who knows what would have happened.....Nobody knows, maybe they get stuffed with the run 3 times....We will never know.

What i do know is......This 3rd year QB threw that ball into coverage and lost the game on the final play.

I`m not speculating,it`s a fact....That`s what happened.

For me,that was a 3rd year QB play....Bonehead play....LOL...Yes,i know he won a super bowl last season....Defense had a lot to do with that.

People call it a bad play because he threw the pick......If he executes the play then he`s a hero.

I see Manning and Brady`s name mentioned above.....I honestly don`t think they throw a pick in that situation.....Just my opinion on that.

He`s a 3rd year QB that can`t read a defense on the fly.

To be honest with you....If that was 4th down i might give him a bit of a pass.....But he threw that pick on 2nd down.....Eat the ball, don`t throw that ball into a tight window that you can`t fit it into to.....He don`t have what it takes to throw that ball on a line with zip and pin point accuracy.

Russell Wilson is the GOAT and nothing will ever change my mind.

Good luck!

2 Super bowls in 3 years. One incredible comeback in the championship game. Brought his team down the field in first half and second half with less than a minute left. Anyone with a brain knows the kid is a total clutch player and you'de take him any day of the week. That was not a good pass but it was a fantastic defensive play more than a shit pass. I would say that for a 2 minute drive at end of game he is one of the top 5 QBs you would want. His record is post season is way better than Peyton's.

absolutely that^

the kid made a great jump on the ball. pre snap, im not sure how 'in position' the defender was, because they kind of used a pick to try and shield the would be coverage guy from getting to the spot - he just read play, reacted and made sensational play, imo. I think wilson may have not wholly understood where butler was, partly obscured by other receiver out there that was essentially blocking to let lockette rub under.

2014yb.jpg

this time really solidifies that cover jinx the team got there and lost

look what happened 1st quater injury to defender lane BOOM game over rookie thurmond gave up 3 td's to Brady he got burnt whole game!

Flip side Coaches also i blame for not hammering the whole second half did they not see thier D was weakened Brady was going down the field whole game with pussy passing.

this is using this old acronym P P P P P R Piss Poor Planning Produces Poor Results

That Cover jinx is 100% add in the madden one you got instant Death .......this time really now solidfies it other teams never saw the bowl This one got To bowl and lost double injuries to defense killed them.

So you are taking russ over peyton?

Not me....no chance. I like russ but I think he is a product of that teams set up...now that still makes him a good QB....i think, just like kapernick, if you do whatever the team asks and can do it succesfully for a sustained period of time, then you are a good qb....maybe not a a great passer....but a great QB....

Now, russ wouldn't be able to enjoy the luxuries he does in seattle nearly any other place...could he be succesful there? Probably but not like this....and thats why id take peyton....he can win in any stadium with any defense....

Give peyton that seattle team.....they are celebrating their 3rd straight title and peyton 100% checks down to a run...

That is what isnt discussed...russ had a chance to say

"Wow why wouldnt we run lynch here. Ok im only going to throw this pass if the corner forgets to cover someone" ...and then he could have proceeded to call a run play after seeing that they had 3 cover guys on all WRs....

I mean i understand he led em down the field but the kearse catch was a almost interception that off the deflection gets caught by his WR laying on the ground...he was fortunate....

Still a heckuva player....but give me peyton ....russ is/will be good....great we will see once he doesnt have phenomenal defense and 12th man...

You can make a better play then the defender.....Fit that ball in their properly.

Trent Dilfer said it.....That ball needed to be thrown around the chin strap.

If it was 4th down i might give him a pass....Last play desperation and what not.

But 2nd down.....That can`t happen.

Everybody has an opinion.

Mine is.....I hold him accountable.

Good luck guys!

I absolutely blame Russ. He threw the ball a little late and that cost him - and it wasn't in the perfect spot.

IF that was Romo, he would be lynched by everyone. But. Russ is a good guy and all, so... LOL.

I'm with Addict - this guy is a product of the system. Many QBs would have had this success or better if put in that spot. Russ is an average quarterback, and I think time will show that. He wasn't very good for much of the season.

I wanted to say.....I saw Drew Brees on a show a while back.....He was throwing footballs through a tire....He did like 15 in a row from a pretty good distance.

I bet he would have nailed that pass.....LOL.

Just sayin

That being said, as soon as they lined up in Shotgun, I stood up and yelled, "What the fuck are they doing?!??!"

Def not the play I would have called - I did not agree with it and don't give a crap about the stupid articles written by dudes like Nate Silver.

Of course it's Wilson's fault.... He didn't have to throw the ball #1.. #2 if he is going the throw that route, that ball has to be down by the receivers knees.... However I don't put all the blame on russ... If Pete wants to throw the ball and " waste a down" ... that's fine... but you need to throw a fade to foot locker.not one db could stop that guy.. and make sure the ball is only where your receiver can catch it... obviously no one reminded Wilson that the ball needs to be down on an inside slant route where it's going to be congested... that's Wilson's en experience and lack of coaching.... someone has to be yelling in Wilson's helmet right after the play is called, make sure the ball is down.... en experience at the qb. position and lack of coaching was the difference. IMO. All the talk about Pete not wanting to run because he didn't want marshawn to be the hero is a pile of shit... rich eisen is fukin idiot. I'm actually fine with throwing the ball in that situation... everyone thought lynch was getting the ball including ne obviously...but it has to be a fade route where only your receiver can catch it. ... In that game in that situation... set up in the eye with foot locker one on one to the outside... and throw the fade... #1. Or #2 go with a zone read... they couldn't tackle russ the whole game...

Just my 2cents..

You know why its stupid and indefensible no one ever asked or noted especially Pete Carroll if he catches it he would not have scored.
