Knight won Rice didn't . He would be around.

it was a different time particularly early in knight`s career.......he was throwing chairs at referees .....you really don`t believe knight did this kind of stuff with his players?....lol.....it`s part of the reason he was fired in 2000...he wasn`t as successful toward the end,true....but he was placed on zero tolerance,the neil reed tape showed and there were other allegations of abuse...he`s probably lucky they didn`t have audio on him...

if knight had pulled this today...and thrown a few insensitive non-pc comments in to boot(on the heels of a gay student committing suicide as a result of bullying at the university just a few short years ago),he would have been gone...you don`t only have the media all over rice...politicians are looking to score points on the situation...

this rutgers guy was toast(not to mention damned stupid by pretty much anyone`s measure)...they had all kinds of concrete evidence that he was a loose cannon....

murdock got some serious payback....some of these guys seem to think they`re invulnerable...

Good thing this kind of abuse wasn't allowed in boot camp years and decades ago we may have never won a war.

Wait.... I recall my drill sgt calling me a fag, a pussy and telling me I probably sucked a dick at some point in my life. Then he dragged me out at night to crawl through the mud under barb wire while live rounds and tracers were being fired over my heads. Then he proceeded to beat the living shit out of me with pugo sticks.Where was the public outcry then?

I have been scared for life. The asshole should have been fired.

However I would still shake his hand today and thank him for teaching me something. Not sure what it was but I think I learned something from all of that abuse I was given.

Oh...I did learn one valuable lesson though. Never volunteer for anything especially when an ass whipping is attached to it.

No I making fun of how people get wrapped around the axle about anything and everything in today's society. Don't condone what may have been done but it happens far more than just this matter.

I do find it funny that you can separate the 2. Where is the difference? Abuse is abuse is it not or so the masses would say.

I expected that reply as well.

Basketball, boot camp, spousal, child etc. abuse is abuse. But it is funny how it is categorized by some.

So Boomer and Carton reported this morning that Eric Murdock asked for $1,000,000 to not release the Mike Rice tapes. I haven?t seen it anywhere else, but Carton reported it as confirmed on the air just like 20 minutes ago. He also said there?s a possibility that Rutgers countered that offer with $200,000. He didn?t confirm anything regarding that. Just said the original demand was $1M, and somehow ended up at 200K. Whether that meant Rutgers countered with their own offer, or Murdock lowered his demands, he said he was unsure.

First thing?s first ? if Rutgers did in fact engage in blackmail talks, everyone is getting fired. Cuncel da Rutgers if they tried to pay their way out of this mess. Handling a head coach situation poorly is one thing. Paying dudes off in an illegal manner to hide transgressions is a whole ?nother story. Also, if they tried to counter that offer and pay hush money, it makes you think that they absolutely knew how much of a PR nightmare this would have been, which in turn makes it seem even stupider that they could get away with a 3 game suspension. Something doesn?t add up there. If you?re willing to drop 200 grand to make this go away, you should be smart enough to realize its serious enough of a situation to fire the coach when you?re not successful in making it disappear. I?d be really surprised if Rutgers made that counter offer.

Secondly, Eric Murdock is kind of a scumbag, huh? I mean regardless of what he did, Mike Rice is still a dickhead. But Eric Murdock is right there with him. Everyone praising him as some sort of ?whistleblower? bringing the truth to light for the benefit off all those kids. Fed up with the abuse the players faced. Yea yea yea. Give me a fucking break. How can you see my posts if I am on your ignore? Hair frosting, no and still have no idea where that came from, birds, yep, love em and feed them all the time. I was in the Marine Corps and my Drill Instructor poked me in both eyes within the first hour of arrival. We will not be shaking hands anytime soon and I never poked anyone in the eyes in combat, so I can't really say I learned anything, other than that he was a dick. Then again, I have shot someone in the eye, but he/she was really far away and wasn't really in any condition afterwards to let me know if it was an effective deterrent one way or the other. Just sayin.
