Ive been lookin at this game, and for the life of me, how the fawk is temple GIVING 4.5 points???? they're 1-6, rutgers is 3-4, I thought temple would be giving 1-2 pts, saw it open at 7 I was amazed to say the least, I follow RU a lot and theres tons of talk in the papers this week how they want their first big east conf win under Schiano and all, Im a contrarian by nature, and like temple b/c of the fact the lines out of whack and Ive seen a lot of people picking RU, but can some people in the rutgers or temple areas or familiar with those teams give me some insight on how temple's passing game matchs up vs rutgers run etc, LOl Maybe Im an idiot for looking at this game, but it jumped out at me, RU is also 7-0 ats this yr, the line stinks to me, I know its been driven down from 7 to 4.5 by public, but does anyone have anything Im missing here? Thanks in advance, may just look elsewhere, but games like this I shake my head, vegas likes to play head games:shrug:

Totally agree. I have played Rutgers the past four weeks and I will be playing them again this week.

Based on their performances this season, Temple appears to be the slightly better team. Rutgers had a good result against Navy and that's pretty much it. Rutgers is 7-0 ATS, but 4 of those covers were by a field goal or less, and the cover against Pitt was a backdoor cover in garbage time. That's great if you bet on Rutgers in those games, but it doesn't mean that Rutgers is much better than expected or that Rutgers has closed the gap that saw them outgained 400-142 yards last year in a 20-17 loss. And Temple won 30-5, 48-14, and 56-28 the 3 years before that.

good points, rutgers is improved though, schiano instilled new attitude, confidence and recruited better last 2 yrs so these guys are a notch above, but temple has an explosive passing game, i guess line's right, but nothing points to temple here that i can see

IMO, RU will win this game, but the line is as such for a coupla reasons. One is that RU has a 25 game BE losing streak. Two, I don't think RU has won a BE road game in a long time if ever. Three, Temple has beaten RU 5 of the last 6 I beleive and by a sizable average margin. This RU team is much better than last year's version and I think Temple's 2003 squad is lesser than the 2002 club. Last year, we should've beaten them but gave the game away late and lost by 3. Don't be alarmed by the possible loss of top RB Hairston for this game, he's questionable with a knee. RU has 6 RBs on the roster who have 100 yard games in their careers. If Hairston doesn't go, Pittman will and he's somewhat proven with a 100 yard game at Tennessee last year. But, the secret or not so secret weapon is FB Leonard. The kid is a RS Frosh and probably the best athlete on the team. He's had some tremendous runs this year and is great catching the ball outta the backfield, not a true bruising FB at all. As far as home field for Temple, forget about it. They MAY have 20k in the Linc which holds I guess about 75k. Of the 20k there, at least 5k will be RU fans. I like RU to win straight up.

"the bunker"
i`d take the points

i`d take the points

better passing game......negligible home field advantage(n.j./philly......a short car ride to the game...i`m sure there`ll be a decent rutgers contingent there).....

2 teams fighting to stay out of the big east basement.....comparable talent-wise....you are getting almost a td(at least it opened that way)......these teams, that are playing relatively well considering who they are,,at this level, you have to take the points,imo...

do you really want to lay points vs a comparable team that`s better balanced on offense?....

i expect a high scoring game...
