HELL
This is easily the poorest coverage I have ever seen for any event. Show one hole, 8 commercials, show one hole, 8 commercials.....sickening. Sucks.

Didn't give a rat's ass about Cink until he beat my man Tom Watson in last year's Open Championship.

I know he got 2.5 out of 4 possible points this week, he stood over a 25' eagle putt on #15 this morning with a 1 UP lead and promptly 3-putted and lost the hole. The match wound up being halved and instead of getting the full point we got .5 a point and that's what we needed to retain the cup.

Jim Furyk got .5 out of a possible 3 points this week. He was 100 yards out on 18 in this morning's single match needing to make a birdie and of course he hit his approach shot into the greenside bunker and lost his match 1 UP.

Jeff Overton is my vote for Team USA MVP. What a performance by this guy... enthusiasm, desire, heart, etc.

You could also give MVP to Steve Stricker who earned 3 out of 4 possible points. To beat Lee Westwood today was very impressive indeed.

Lefty, thanks for finally showing up today. 1 out of 4 possible points. BTW, Lee Weswood will be the next #1 player in the world, not you.

Hunter Mahan, I want to be pissed at you but I'm sure you feel like shit. Never had the lead in today's singles match. Seriously though, when you need to step up you not only come up 15 yards short of the green, you then chunk your pitch shot 20 feet.

Props to Zac Efron (aka Rickie Fowler). His first Ryder Cup and he was 3 down with 3 to play and finished birdie-birdie-birdie.

Eldrick, what can I say? Damn fine Ryder Cup... I believe his best results ever. He and Stricker were almost unstoppable this weekend.

Love Poulter and Jiminez... two of my favorite Euro players, but was rooting like hell against them both today.

Rolltide I agree with most of your analysis but c'mon Woods/Stricker looked awful yesterday losing 6&5 to donald/westwood. luke donald doesn't get enough props, he played well this weekend. I had Europe winning at -165, was definitely sweating it out this morning. The suspense was great today.

They beat Eur. 3 out of 4 sessions but got there teeth kicked in in session 3. They would have never been in it if not for cink. Team mickelson/johnson should be embaressed.

I agree that they looked like shit, but that was also the first time in International play that they had lost as a team. Donald was steady for sure. Americans could have pulled off another Brookline today if one or two putts had fallen.

why have mahan last instead of woods or phil? i say put the pressure on those who have had the most experience playing with it.

There was no guarantee that the last group would have any bearing on the outcome. If you put Woods or Phil in the last group and the Ryder Cup is already determined, it's like leaving a bullet in your gun.

Agreed for the most part, but I would have put Zach Johnson or Furyk last at least, as both of them have won a major and they play a type of game that is fairways and greens, nothing flashy but you have to earn a point from them as they usually don't give away holes from errant shots. Hindsight is 20/20, but IMO Mickelson needs to be held accountable for his 0-3 play leading up to singles. Donald getting up and down on 15 was just ridiculous, I mean he had one foot in the water.

I think you can second guess the lineup no matter what. I tend to agree though. You have to send out your horses early or in the middle when you are behind, otherwise they can be rendered worthless. I know Mahan is young, but he is a stud. Maybe the nerves got him...maybe he just had a bad day....but bottom line is, I'd have him on my next Ryder Cup team.

Let's not forget what a complete STUD (sorry, Brent) Hunter Mahan was at the last Ryder Cup!! He was simply amazing!

My guess is that Pavin took this into consideration and felt he could have what it takes to stand up and deliver when it counted. Hindsight shows that it was an incorrect decision, but from what Pavin had to go on, it wasn't an absolutely terrible decision.

You don't put Tiger or Phil in the last slot for said reasons. Your best bet is to put someone who may not be feared by others but won't statistically crack under pressure. I stand by Pavin's decision to have Mahan there. Unfortunately, he didn't deliver when it counted. He'll never be the same player now, and I hate that for him.
