No doubt, that was looking like 3 to 1 deficit. Great play by Walker the last few holes to half and Keegan/Phil to win. I still would not have put Phil out in afternoon, esp how erractic he can be and with fatigue.....hope I am wrong.

Huge on so many levels. US being down 1 after today didn't seem terrible at all. For some reason being down 2 seems so much more than the incremental point as well as the overall momentum being with the Euro's after they go 3-0-1 in the afternoon matches.

You've listed 3 guys to sit there, and Phil should sit at least one of the sessions because of his age and fatigue. The problem isn't Tom Watson's picks, its who he has to pick from. The US squad isn't very good on paper or on the course.

Agreed....so with that, why not take a Horschel and or Kirk? Nobody really gave US a chance anyways, so IMO take some young or fresh bloods who were playing well down the stretch. These older retreads bring nothing really and if you get beat my way, at least they get some experience for potential Ryder Cups in future.

Fearful that this may be over before Sunday.

Agreed. The squad looks very weak. Leave in the young guns. The veteren crew is sucking. Those blue sweaters also look hideous. Look like ugly freaking Christmas sweaters.
