Sad News

[The Boys]

Elmore Leonard passed away at 7:15 this morning from complications from his stroke. He was at home surrounded by his loving family. More to follow.

Get Shorty and Justified just to name a couple. Met him once and played cards with his son. Loved his style.

Big fan too. It's amazing how all my favorite American authors are famous, or 'good' mostly because they write dialogue that captures how people actually talk.

You think that would be the easiest part about writing; since we essentially hear people talking all day, every day of our lives.
But it's not easy, and so many authors struggle at it.

He was one of the best at that.

Haven't watched it yet. It's sorta in my mental queue as something I'll have to tear through one of these days, on Netflix or some such thing.

Well it's awesome.......Leonard created and wrote most of it. Takes place in the south. Kind of a modern day western. Timothy Olyphant the sheriff from the HBO series Deadwood is outstanding.

One of my favorite writers, As mentioned in the article this is what I loved about his writing ?Try to leave out the part that readers tend to skip...If it sounds like writing, I rewrite it.? RIP Mr. Leonard
