Unfortunately early Thursday morning she slipped into unconsciousness.. Fortunately she has been resting what appears to be comfortably.. The hospice in Duluth has been great.. My friend and his family are hanging in there. We sat up talking all night long and now everyone has fallen asleep. For some reason I can't so I thought I would check out the site and check out some games today.. I have nothing better to do at the moment.. You know we knew this day was coming for a long time because the cancer always came back for over 6 years.. She would receive treatment and be cancer free for a few months and then BOOM it's back. What a tough lady, she handled the past 2 - 3 months better than anyone else.. What a fighter..

so sorry to read this , it must be hard on you and your friends, hang in there

you sure sound like a great friend, bleedingpurple. Your buddy is fortunate to have you around.

Glad your experience at hospice has been good. I can't recommend the new one we have here enough. For people and families in need, they sure are nice.

I have worked in nursing homes and have taken care of many families/patients who have gone through this. The problem is the environment is so much more institutionalized or sterile in a nursing home environment compared to hospice. If you can google up... Solvay House Duluth.. It is as nice as it looks

I totally agree. Ours offers respite care as well that is very nice for overburdened family/caregivers.

Thoughts and prayers to you, your friend and his wife and family. I lost my Mom to cancer almost a little over 13 years ago (April 15th). It's never easy watching someone you love suffer so just hang in there and know there is a better place for them to finally rest after all their pain and suffering...
