There definitely is some truth to this. I am a retired recreation officer back in the 80'sI started as a 3rd shift CO.. When inmates were booked in especially on weekends they were given the orange pants and many times there was only xl left to give which obviously were to big for many inmates. The pants sagged and to many upon release this became a status fashion statement among them. As time went by we noticed inmates exchanged pants and those who took the to big pants stated through disciplinary hearings it was to let others know they would provide sexual favors.
