Siena -4.5 over Rider ****
Like the Saints on the road in NJ tonite....Saints got a nice 7 pt win over Fairfield the other nite...think they will challenge Monmouth for the MAAC title....a lot of talent but very little depth....Wright at the pt is tough....can score, pass and rebound..overall is really better then Robinson....he is avg 18 pts a game and has 37 assists and about 4-5 bds a game..can penetrate and dishes off....but the star in soph Clareth a 6'5 gd who had 33 pts the other day...this kid is avg now 18 pts a game...this year he has scored 33,32 and 24 pts in games....and you have Long the other steady reliable gd who avgs 11 pts a game.....inside is the Saints real strength is with Ogun and Bips both can score and rebound.....they were tested early in the season with losses to Kansas,Bonnies and G. Wash....they have some weak wins but opened the MAAC with a win...all 5 starters are back from lyr...when Wright went down it killed their season....last yr vs Rider they beat them twice 84-64 @ Rider and 63-52 at home...Ogun had combined 36 pts and 27 bds.. Bips had 28 rebounds in those 2 games...Long had over 20 pts,Clareth over 20.....and Wright did not play both games....so the best player tonight on the floor did'nt even contribute last yr....
Rider has a decent front line...Thomas,Lundy and Carey are all 6'7 and decent...Broncos have no gds...their best player is Taylor....but these guys can't shoot esp. from the 3....they shoot 22% worst in the country...last yr in those 2 losses vs Siena they shot 5-23 and 2-20...that is 7-43.....they have no pt gd...freshman Jordan is the pt gd is learning...but he is a "puppy"....has 23 assists but 20 turnovers...and to make matter worse he got hit in the face vs fairfield and might not play tonite....
Think with Wright playing now at 100%,Clareth playing awesome and Ogun and Bips inside think Saints should get a double digit win on the road...they can pack their defense in tight and just let the Bronco's chuck those 3's..

Niagara beats Iona on the road..how do you figure that out...really thought just maybe they have their act together....Purple has one player that could start for Iona..and they get beat...Iona was 7-26 from the 3 and playing at home...

North Texas football playing Army in the Heart Bowl is Dallas...was at the game in Oct when North Texas beat Army...NT with a 4-6 record got in a bowl game because of their academic rating......that's write....I'm proud of my school....,,sory that's right.....go Mean Green.....

Hawkeye,I take that personal....its all about the "book's"....we have some standards at North Texas..so what in their last game to become bowl eligible they get beat by UTEP by 4 touchdowns....they let someone get 350 yds on the ground on them..... but its not diluted... Army vs North Texas..two great learning institutions.... both with losing records....I honored to be a graduate of North Texas....just the years I was there we had....Joe Green has left the year before for the Steelers..1969-1974....it took me 4 and half yrs to graduate ..... I got a K-12 certification, plus drivers education and health..plus double majored in History and PE...needed that extra semester....freshman yr grade pt was 1.7..met my wife 2 yrs later and graduated with a 3.0..really 2.9 but I like to tell people that...
These are the people that were at NT when I was there...Don Henley of Shiloh....left the next year and started some BS group in California..think they called themselves the Eagles....Sweet Lou Marino the sax superstar...became a Blues Brother, Peter Weller the actor became Robocop,Phyliss George became Miss America...and 2 yrs later Shirly Cothram another Miss America... I dated both but don't want to get into that....in sports No 1 in the nation in 4 categories . Steve Ramsey had 7 NCAA passing records,Ron Shanklin 2 receiving records caught of few Super Bowl Td's for the Steelers,No 7 draft Cedric Hardman NFL rookie of the Year for the 49'ers....Leonard Dunlap No 1 draft for Balt.........now before I got there Pat Boone,Trini Lopez ,Bill Moyer,etc....enough....
We are bowling because our student-athlete is top notch.....they use to call Rice the " harvard of the south"...well I'm starting to spread the word "North Texas the Yale of the South"...you heard it hear 1st at MJ's...

lol Hawkeye

Siena 1-19 from 3-point land tonight. 35% from the floor. And still only lost by 2 on the road. However, any team that can shoot that bad will not be getting my money as a road favorite, especially giving up that many.:nono:
