Saints leading game 20-6 and brees hit TD pass for 62 yards for the record in pass yards. they have a 10 minute celebration on field and the Saints decide to go for 2 point conversion which they miss and score is 26-6, which makes no sense as kicking the extra point gives them a 21 point lead. thank goodness it did not affect the outcome of game as I had new orleans -6 for game and Washington scored before halftime to make it a 13 point game 26-13. a td by washington in 2nd half gets them to just 6 point behind instead of 7 and my new orleans bet could have been in big trouble.

Anyone have any answers to this call, let me know. it did not affect outcome but was a really bad decision.

if they get up next week in 1st half 20-0 will they go for 2 to make it 22-0. do not believe this has never happened that a NFL team has gone for 2 being up by 20 in 1st half.

below I am listing the only reasons i can think of why they went for 2 in this situation.

1- no one the coaching staff knew the correct score, must have thought it was a 19 point lead and needed to go for 2 to make it a 21 point lead when the kick would have made it a 21 point lead. some coach should have alerted coaching staff they were fucking up before they ran the play as this was a huge fuckup. or the coaching was all wrapped up in the brees celebration and were not thinking.

2- they had a 2 point conversion play they were going to try from the wildcat and wanted to practice it, again this makes no sense with game still in doubt.

Squeelers go for 2 often after 1st TD to be up either 6-0 or 8-0... not sure why Saints did it, but you obviously won so wouldn't be complaining too much. Going for 2 is probably not a bad move since so many PAT's miss these days.

Think it was because the kicker had missed the first PAt and probably felt that the kicker was iced after celebration or they just said, Washington can?t stop ya let?s try

this.......

that game was over on the first drive..............

Washington expecting AP to carry the load at running back is a pipe dream..

and Norman at corner has seen his better days....

and when Saints D line gets to you you really have problems............

Carolina at Washington.........Cam should have a field day.........

This may be worse. LSU scored on Florida to go up 19-14, with about '12' minutes left in the game. Florida later kicks 2 field goals to go up by 1, and things just unraveled after that. At least LSU would have probably ended up with a chance to win the game in overtime, if they would have just taken, the 1 point (that would have been given them) if they had kicked the extra point earlier. Simply amazing, the thinking, or lack of that goes on sometimes by people that are paid millions of dollars. Never beat yourself, or fail to give yourself a chance to win. Too much time left in the game to try to guess what was going to happen!
