I'm not into stats much when attempting to make a pick on a game. I'm more of a situational bettor. If this game was being played in primetime in the regular season I'd be all over the eagles. It's a horrible spot for the Saints, their porous record in primetime when away and the dressing cold conditions spell disaster for the Saints. However...to be a successful gambler I feel you have to change you're style of betting as the season progresses and yet again when it's playoff time. I like to factor in 4 things that normally wouldn't hold that much weight in situational betting.

1. Who has the better defense
2. Who has the better run game
3. Who has the better qb
4. Who has the better head coach

Based solely on these 4 points I believe the saints have the edge tonight. I would probably say the eagles have the better run game, but their just not that ground and pound team. The head coach and qb categories are non-negotiable in my opinion. The experience they bring is unparalleled in comparison to the eagles. Defense? Honestly I don't know how either team ranks stat wise which probably makes this bootleg write up seriously flawed...

Public underdogs in the nfl can be very profitable. The Giants were public underdogs in at least 3 of their games the year they beat the undefeated patriots. The saints are now getting 3 as a slight betting favorite.

Don't believe I've ever picked against the eagles in the playoffs. First time for everything I guess..maybe it will come back to bite me but I'll take the saints on the moneyline.

You were right on target for this P4P. Nice analysis of this game. In the end, I think head coaching experience was the major factor in this game, not to mention a little help from Gatorade.
