Donald Trump Jr. has defended his meeting with a Kremlin-linked lawyer by saying he didn?t get anything out of it, but Fox News commentator Charles Krauthammer isn?t buying it.

?It?s a hell of a defense to say your collusion might be incompetent,? he told Fox News? Martha MacCallum.

?If you get a call to go to a certain place in the middle of the night to pick up stolen goods and it turns out the stolen goods don?t show up but the cops show up,? he added, ?I think you?re going to have a very weak story saying, ?Well, I got swindled here.??

Trump, the eldest son of President Donald Trump, admitted on Tuesday that he met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya on the pretense he?d be receiving damning information about Hillary Clinton, his father?s presidential election opponent. Rob Goldstone, a music publicist who set up the meeting, told Trump Jr. in an email that the meeting was part of Russia?s attempts to help his father win the election.

?I love it,? Trump Jr. told Goldstone in emails he posted to Twitter late Tuesday morning. He later told Fox News host Sean Hannity that the meeting was ?such a nothing? because Veselnitskaya didn?t end up disclosing anything useful.

Others in the Trump inner circle have used the same shit.

New Health Care Bill Proves GOP Promises On Pre-Existing Conditions Were Never Serious
If you have medical problems, this proposal probably won?t be good for you.
By Jonathan Cohn
X

The big change in the new Senate Republican health care proposal is, as expected, an amendment that has the potential to undermine current protections for pre-existing conditions.

Yes, that?s despite the promises Republican leaders have made, over and over, to treat those protections as sacrosanct.

The amendment, based on a proposal that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has been promoting and tweaking for weeks, would undermine the rules on what and who insurers cover in order to make insurance cheaper. These rules, which include prohibitions on charging higher premiums to people with severe medical problems, are a cornerstone of the Affordable Care Act.

Cruz has presented his amendment as a compromise, in part because it would require insurers to keep offering some plans that comply with the existing regulations. And the overall impact of the proposal remains difficult to determine precisely, because analysts are scrambling to see how the different pieces, including a special fund to help people with more serious medical problems, fit together.

But it seems clear the proposal is really just a more roundabout way of trying to accomplish what conservatives have always wanted to do ― to change the way Americans pay for health care, so responsibility for those huge bills falls more squarely on the people who generate them.

The only questions are how severe the effects will be ― and how many Republican senators are willing to go along.

Pre-existing condition protections were always a GOP target

The central and accurate insight of the Cruz amendment is that some of the Affordable Care Act?s most popular provisions have also driven up premiums for people buying coverage on their own.

In the old days, insurers could offer dirt-cheap policies that left out whole swaths of benefits ― like mental health or maternity care, or even prescription drugs. More important, they could discriminate among potential buyers, charging higher premiums to people with pre-existing conditions or simply denying them coverage altogether.

Unable to engage in such practices today, because Obamacare prohibits them, insurers must pay more serious medical bills for people with more serious medical problems ― and to cover these additional costs, insurers have raised their premiums. The Affordable Care Act?s subsidies, which discount premiums and in some cases out-of-pocket costs, insulate millions from the higher premiums. But plenty pay full price or close to it.

It?s tough on them personally and, since some opt not to get coverage altogether, it?s led some insurers to abandon new markets altogether. Many conservatives think the best way to proceed would be simply to get rid of those regulations ― to restore the kind of system that existed before the Affordable Care Act, so that insurers could go back to offering skimpy plans and screening people for pre-existing conditions.

But these same changes have put comprehensive insurance plans within reach of millions of people who desperately need it because of their medical problems. Also, the guarantees of coverage are popular ― so much so that pretty much every high-profile Republican official, including President Donald Trump, had to promise over and over that they would protect people with pre-existing conditions even as they swore to wipe away Obamacare.

Confronted with this dilemma this past spring, House Republican leaders eventually came down on the side of conservative principle ― passing a bill that would give states the ability to waive most of the existing insurance regulations, including the prohibition on charging higher premiums to people because of health status. With that change in place, insurers could charge sky-high premiums to people with pre-existing conditions, pricing them out of coverage.

After the House passed its bill, Senate Republicans signaled their bill would not take such an extreme step. And although the original Senate bill was in some respects more severe than the House counterpart, particularly when it came to the treatment of Medicaid, the Senate version gave states less leeway to dilute insurance regulations.

I met Don Jr and Jared at Trump Tower and we DID give them dirt on Dems, says Soviet spook: Lobbyist feared to still be a spy says he and Russian lawyer handed over documents accusing Democrats of taking dirty money
Donald Trump Jr is facing a new crisis of trust over his account of his meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya after the offer of dirt on Clinton
He told Sean Hannity 'this is everything' on Tuesday but on Friday more people were revealed to be there - and one said documents WERE turned over
Ex-Soviet military intelligence officer Rinat Akhmetshin said he was in the room with the lawyer and saw her leave a folder full of claims
He said it had evidence of Democrats taking dirty money - but Trump Jr said nothing about his presence or the paperwork
A translator was also there and was named Friday while British Svengali Rob Goldstone changed his tune to say he was at the meeting too after setting it up
CNN suggested there could be even more people present including a representative of the Agalarov family - Goldstone's boss is son Emin
Trump Jr kept silent on Twitter for once while his brother-in-law Jared Kushner, who was also at meeting but has said nothing in public, was grinning in Idaho

Donald Trump Jr faced damaging new claims on Friday that he lied about his meeting with a Russian lawyer, as an ex-Soviet intelligence officer revealed he was there too and claimed a trove of claims about Democrats and 'bad money' was handed over.

Russian-American lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin - who U.S. intelligence think may still be a spy - told the Associated Press that he was part of the Trump Tower meeting with Don Jr.

Don Jr brought Jared Kushner, his brother-in-law who is now one of President Donald Trump's , and Paul Manafort, then the campaign chairman.

But on Friday Akhmetshin and other sources revealed stunning new details about the meeting which put Don Jr on the ropes.

Akmetshin's disclosure of being there blew apart Don Jr's claim on Tuesday to have told 'everything' there was to say about the meeting - because the president's son had only admitted to the presence of Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.

Donald Trump Jr met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya last June, after being promised by an intermediary dirt on Hillary Clinton, courtesy of the Kremlin

NBC News reported Friday morning that Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian attorney who met with Donald Trump Jr and campaign aides, was accompanied by a man with ties to Russian intelligence, something the individual has denied

Next to be revealed to be there was interpreter Anatoli Samochornov
PR executive Rob Goldstone emailed Donald Trump Jr to set the controversial meeting up. He confirmed to the Associated Press that he participated in the gathering. Next to be revealed to be there was interpreter Anatoli Samochornov (right)

Off course: Donald Trump returned to the U.S. and went to the U.S. Women's Open Championship at his Bedminster golf course on Friday, while his administration faced crisis

Grip and grin: Jared Kushner was at the meeting too. His presence kicked off the whole affair because he disclosed it in his security clearance forms +10

Then Akhmetshin, a former Soviet military intelligence officer, piled on the pressure with a bombshell claim that Veselnitskaya had brought a plastic folder full of printed documents which contained claims of the Democratic National Committee receiving dirty Russian money.

That directly contradicted Don Jr's account that no information had been received from the visiting Russians.

Don Jr was uncharacteristically silent on twitter as disclosure followed disclosure.

In contrast his brother-in-law Jared Kushner was grinning and relaxed as he and his wife Ivanka mingled with media moguls at Sun Valley in Idaho.

Democrats are beginning to seize on the claims with Bernie Sanders telling an Associated Press reporter: 'These are very, very, very serious allegations.'

He added that there should not be a rush to judgment.

The most damage of the day was done to Don Jr's credibility.

As well as the disclosure that documents were left, the list of who was in the meeting grew, with portly British PR Rob Goldstone admitting to the Associated Press that he was in the room, and a New York Times reporter revealing on MSNBC that there was also an interpreter present.

Anatoli Samochornov, a U.S. citizen who has worked for Veselnitskaya for some time was with him, reporter Ken Vogel said.

There could have been even more people there as CNN reported that there was an associate of pop star Emin present. Emin is the son of Aras Agalarov, the billionaire friend of Vladimir Putin and CNN said a representative of the Agalarov family was there.

Trump Jr never noted the presence of any individuals outside the campaign's senior officials - Kushner and Manafort - and the lawyer, Veselnitskaya.

Gets around: A few days after the meeting in Trump Tower Natalia Veselntiskaya headed to Washington, where she sat in on a House Foreign Affairs Committee meeting, almost directly behind former Obama Moscow ambassador Michael McFaul - who stated publicly this week that he does not know her +10

During the meeting, Akhmetshin said Veselnitskaya brought along a plastic folder with printed out documents that detailed illicit funds flowing to the Democratic National Committee.

'This could be a good issue to expose how the DNC is accepting bad money,' Akhmetshin recalled the attorney saying, according to comments he made to the AP.

Akhmetshin went on saying Donald Trump Jr asked Veselnitskaya if she had all the proof in the information she was delivering.

She replied that the Trump campaign would have to do some digging itself.

After that, Akhmetshin told the AP, Donald Trump lost interest. 'They couldn?t wait for the meeting to end,' the Russian-American lobbyist said.

Akhmetshin said he didn't know if the Russian government was the source of the documents, nor did he remember if Veselnitskaya handed them over to an individual or simply left them in the room, according to the statements he made to the AP.

NBC, which initially withheld Akhmetshin's name, described the lobbyist as holding dual American and Russian citizenship, having emigrated to the US after serving in the Soviet military.

After Akhmetshin was IDed, news organizations confirmed that there were a number of other individuals sitting in on the meeting, including PR executive Ron Goldstone, who previously said he wasn't in the room.

Additionally, CNN reported that a representative of the Agalarov family, a pop star central to the narrative, was there, as well as a translator.

The translator's existence was confirmed by both Akhmetshin and Donald Trump Jr's lawyer, Alan Futerfas.

Futerfas, told NBC News that two other people accompanied Veselnitskaya to the meeting ? a translator and a 'friend of Emin [Agalarov]'s and maybe as a friend of Natalia [Veselnitskaya].'

Emin Agalarov is a pop star friend of the Trumps who asked his PR person, Ron Goldstone to reach out to Donald Trump Jr, according to emails Trump's son produced, offering information about Hillary Clinton from the Russians.

Futerfas said he has talked to the 'friend' who attended the meeting.

'He is a U.S. citizen,' Donald Trump Jr's lawyer told NBC. 'He told me specifically he was not working with the Russian government, and in fact laughed when I asked him that question.'

The individual Futerfas described is likely Akhmetshin, though CNN reported later on Friday that a representative of the Agalarov family was also in the room, as the reported meeting's size doubled since Friday morning, from four to at least eight participants.

Last weekend, when the meeting first became public, Donald Trump Jr changed his story several times, as more information was released by the New York Times.

On Saturday, he told the Times the meeting had been about Russian adoption, on Sunday he added that Veselnitskaya had come armed with dirt on the Democrats.

'After pleasantries were exchanged the woman stated that she had information that individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Ms. Clinton,' the eldest Trump son said.

'Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense.

President Trump?s standing with the American people has deteriorated since the spring, buffeted by perceptions of a decline in U.S. leadership abroad, a stalled presidential agenda at home and an unpopular Republican health-care bill, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Approaching six months in office, Trump?s overall approval rating has dropped to 36 percent from 42 percent in April. His disapproval rating has risen five points to 58 percent. Overall, 48 percent say they ?disapprove strongly? of Trump?s performance in office, a level never reached by former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and reached only in the second term of George W. Bush in Post-ABC polling.

Almost half of all Americans (48 percent) see the country?s leadership in the world as weaker since Trump was inaugurated, compared with 27 percent who say it is stronger. Despite the fact that Trump campaigned as someone skilled at making deals that would be good for the country, majorities also say they do not trust him in negotiations with foreign leaders and in particular Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Just over one-third of all Americans say they trust the president either ?a great deal? or ?a good amount? in any such foreign negotiations. Asked specifically about Trump-Putin negotiations, almost 2 in 3 say they do not trust the president much, including 48 percent who say they do not trust the president ?at all.?

Perceptions about the role of Russia in the 2016 election and possible collusion or cooperation with Trump campaign associates continue to be a drag on the president, though like many other questions, results show a clear partisan divide.

The Post-ABC poll finds 60 percent of Americans think Russia tried to influence the election outcome, up slightly from 56 percent in April. Some 44 percent suspect Russian interference and think Trump benefited from their efforts. Roughly 4 in 10 believe members of Trump?s campaign intentionally aided Russian efforts to influence the election, though suspicions have changed little since the spring.

This really does take the cake.

Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer stole a mini fridge from his junior staffers, it was alleged Friday.

The Wall Street Journal reported in its story on the rollercoaster ride of Spicer?s tenure as press secretary that he had really, really, wanted a mini-fridge for his office about a month into his job. So, like any polite co-worker, Spicer sent someone to ask the junior staffers down the hall to give them their fridge.

They said no, according to the report.

?So Mr. Spicer waited until sundown?after his young staffers had left?to take matters into his own hands,? the Journal wrote. ?He was spotted by a fellow White House official lugging the icebox down the White House driveway after 8 p.m.? :mj07:

After being denied, Spicer allegedly just took what he wanted anyway from a group of people that the Journal described as ?surviving on Lean Cuisine frozen lunches.?

President Trump's newly appointed communications director, Anthony Scaramucci, is under consideration to replace Reince Priebus as White House chief of staff, Politico reported Monday.

Priebus, a former chairman of the Republican National Committee, hopes to stay on his role for the year, according to Politico. But the news outlet noted he faces obstacles as political outsiders gain influence in the White House and he and the rest of the GOP struggle to pass major legislation.

Scaramucci, a former Wall Street financier, was appointed to his new position Friday.

He joins other internal and external candidates in the running for the chief of staff role, according to Politico.

Support for impeachment is stronger among younger people than older ones; 51% of those under 35 but just 33% among those 50 and older say Trump should be removed from office. Women are more likely than men to back impeachment, 46% compared with 38%. There is also a racial and ethnic divide. Two-thirds of African-Americans and a majority of Hispanics back impeachment, compared with a third of whites.

"I believe in 2018 they will vote enough Democrats and independents in to impeach him," says Jeffrey Hobbs, 49, of Ochlocknee, a town of 605 in southern Georgia. He voted for Republican Mitt Romney in 2012 but didn't cast a ballot in 2016, and now he vows to never vote Republican again because of the GOP's failure to stand up to Trump

DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran has successfully tested a rocket that can deliver satellites into orbit, state television reported on Thursday, an event likely to raise tensions with the United States because of its potential use in a ballistic missile.

Washington has said Iran is defying a U.N. resolution calling on it not to undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons. Tehran denies it has missiles designed to carry nuclear warheads.

"The Imam Khomeini Space Centre was officially opened with the successful test of the Simorgh (Phoenix) space launch vehicle," state television said. "The Simorgh can place a satellite weighing up to 250 kg (550 pounds) in an orbit of 500 km (311 miles)."

State television showed footage of the firing of the rocket, mounted on a launch-pad carrying the pictures of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic, and Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

I?ll get to the person who leaked that to you. Reince Priebus?if you want to leak something?he?ll be asked to resign very shortly.?

He also called Priebus a ?paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac.?

Scaramucci previously said he and Priebus are like brothers who ?rough each other up once in a while.? He also suggested during an interview with CNN on Thursday morning that Priebus was behind White House leaks.

While talking with Lizza, Scaramucci also attacked Bannon and accused him of acting in his own self-interest.

?I?m not Steve Bannon, I?m not trying to suck my own cock,? he told The New Yorker. ?I?m not trying to build my own brand off the fucking strength of the President. I?m here to serve the country.?

SEOUL, South Korea ? North Korea launched a ballistic missile on Friday that traveled farther than its first test of a similar missile earlier this month, officials from the United States, South Korea and Japan reported.

South Korean officials have said that in the earlier, July 4th test of the Hwasong-14, the North?s ICBM demonstrated a range capable of reaching Alaska, but that it remains unclear whether the North has mastered all technologies needed to deliver a nuclear warhead to targets in the continental United States.

In Tokyo on Friday, Japan?s chief cabinet secretary, Yoshihide Suga, said the latest North Korean missile flew for about 45 minutes before landing off Hokkaido, the northernmost Japanese island. The flight time suggests that the missile may have a range greater than any the North has tested previously.

In the earlier test, the Hwasong-14 flew about 39 minutes and for a distance of 578 horizontal miles, but it was launched at a highly lofted angle, reaching an altitude of 1,740 miles. Had it been launched on a standard trajectory, it would have flown around 4,200 miles, missile experts said.

The South Korean military said that Friday?s missile was launched from a site in Jagang Province, a northern central area of North Korea bordering on China, at 11:41 p.m. on Friday.

The Pentagon confirmed that it had detected a ballistic missile launching from North Korea and was assessing the situation.

In response to Friday?s test, President Moon Jae-in of South Korea and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan both called emergency meetings with their security advisers.

COMMENTS
North Korea is a closed society, and the secrecy of its government makes it difficult to tell exactly how far its weapons programs have advanced, but experts believe it is has not yet perfected the manufacture of nuclear warheads that can withstand re-entry.

North Korea is banned by the United Nations from developing or testing ballistic missiles

Priebus said he submitted his resignation privately on Thursday.

?It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve this president and our country. I want to thank the president for giving me this very special opportunity. I will continue to serve as a strong supporter of the president?s agenda and policies. I can?t think of a better person than General John Kelly to succeed me and I wish him God?s blessings and great success,? Priebus said in a statement on Friday.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, said Trump and Priebus had been discussing his role for weeks. She added that Kelly and Trump had also been discussing the job.

In an interview with CNN?s Wolf Blitzer, Priebus declined to provide details on why he decided to quit, but said the president thought it was time for a change. He denied that Trump asked for his resignation.

?The president has a right to change direction. The president has a right to hit the reset button,? Priebus said. ?I think it?s healthy.?

Priebus said he would be working with Kelly ?for a couple of weeks? to help with the transition.

He declined to discuss newly appointed White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci?s incendiary leak accusation. ?I?m not going to respond to it,? Priebus said. ?I?m not going to get into the mud on those kind of things.?

Priebus flew on Air Force One with Trump on Friday, according to a pool report. Trump waited on board the plane when it returned to Andrews Air Force base, and Priebus initially got into a car with White House aides Stephen Miller and Dan Scavino. They then left his car and got in another one. Some reporters approached Priebus? car as they learned of his dismissal, and the vehicle left Trump?s motorcade before the president departed.

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said Priebus didn?t show any signs over being out of a job while riding Air Force One on Friday.

?We didn?t even know it. We were sitting right across from him and he kept a poker face,? he told reporters. ?Good poker face, showed nothing.?

Trump also spoke to reporters on Air Force One.

?Reince is a good man,? he said. ?John Kelly will do a fantastic job. Gen. Kelly has been a star, done an incredible job thus far, respected by everybody. He?s a great great American. Reince is a good man.?

Sanders released a statement Friday, saying the ?entire Administration loves [Kelly] and no one is comparable.? House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) also weighed in on Priebus? exit, praising the Wisconsin native.

?Reince Priebus has left it all out on the field, for our party and our country. Here is a guy from Kenosha, Wisconsin who revitalized the Republican National Committee and became White House chief of staff,? Ryan said in a statement. ?He has served the president and the American people capably and passionately. He has achieved so much, and he has done it all with class. I could not be more proud to call Reince a dear friend.?

We didn?t even know it. We were sitting right across from him and he kept a poker face.
Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) on being with Reince Priebus on Friday
The shake-up comes after Scaramucci accused Priebus of leaking his personal financial information.

Scaramucci tweeted about the disclosure Wednesday night, and hinted at Priebus? potential involvement by tagging him in the post. Hours later, in a subsequent tweet, Scaramucci denied that he had meant to vilify Priebus. But in a CNN interview Thursday morning, he seemed to place the onus on Priebus to clear his name.

?If Reince wants to explain that he?s not a leaker, let him do that,? Scaramucci said.

The publication of Scaramucci?s financial information, it has since become clear, was not a leak at all. The Politico reporter who first published it said the data she used was publicly available.

And in a New Yorker interview published Thursday, Scaramucci publicly and vulgarly attacked Priebus, calling him a ?paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac.?

On Sunday, shortly after he began occupying the communications director post, Scaramucci promised to ?fire everybody? if leaks did not end. The threat ― and a subsequent warning about who was in Scaramucci?s crosshairs ― has already prompted a high-profile resignation. White House press aide Michael Short, apparently viewed as a Priebus ally, departed on Tuesday after Scaramucci indicated Short would be his first target when he began to force people out.

Priebus? exit also comes after the sudden resignation of White House press secretary Sean Spicer, who served as the Republican National Committee?s communications director when Priebus was its chairman. Spicer left in protest over the news that Trump had appointed Scaramucci as communications director, effectively superseding Spicer with a hedge fund manager with no previous political experience.

There have been signs of Priebus? waning influence and beleaguered job status for months. After the first version of the Obamacare repeal bill collapsed in the House of Representatives in March, the White House sacked Priebus? deputy chief of staff, Katie Walsh, and sent her to Trump?s outside political group.

Rather than speak to Priebus? own foibles, however, his departure attests to Trump?s willingness to pit even his most loyal aides against each another.

? REUTERS Simorgh rocket is launched and tested at the Imam Khomeini Space Centre, Iran

The United States imposed sanctions on Friday on six subsidiaries of a company key to Iran's ballistic missile programme, citing continued "provocative actions" like Tehran's launch of a rocket capable of putting a satellite into orbit.

Iranian state television reported on Thursday that Iran had successfully tested a rocket that can deliver satellites into orbit, an action the United States and others say breaches a U.N. Security Council resolution because of its potential use in ballistic missile development.

A joint statement on Friday from the United States, France, Germany and Britain said the launch was inconsistent with a U.N. Security Council resolution calling on Iran not to conduct such tests.

The U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control imposed sanctions on six Iranian firms owned or controlled by the Shahid Hemmat Industrial Group. The move enables the U.S. government to block any company property under its jurisdiction and prevents U.S. citizens from doing business with the firms.

"These sanctions ... underscore the United States? deep concerns with Iran?s continued development and testing of ballistic missiles and other provocative behaviour," Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said in a statement.

"The U.S. government will continue to aggressively counter Iran?s ballistic missile-related activity, whether it be a provocative space launch ... or likely support to Yemeni Houthi missile attacks on Saudi Arabia such as occurred this past weekend," Mnuchin said.

The six Shahid Hemmat units targeted by the U.S. sanctions manufacture missile components, missile airframes, liquid-propellant ballistic missile engines, liquid propellant, guidance and control systems. They also do missile-related research and maintenance.

The Treasury move was announced just hours after the U.S. Senate voted almost unanimously to impose new sanctions on Iran, Russia and North Korea.

The measure put President Donald Trump, who has sought better ties with Russia, in a tough position, forcing him to either sign the bill into law or anger his party by vetoing it.

The sanctions in that bill also target Iran's missile development programs as well as human rights abuses.

The State Department charged on Thursday that Iran's test of the satellite launch vehicle was a violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions as well as the spirit of the multinational Iran nuclear deal, under which Tehran agreed to curb its nuclear programs in exchange for a lifting of some economic sanctions.

Washington's ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, said the Trump administration would continue to impose consequences on Iran until it complied fully with U.N. resolutions.

"The issue with Iran always comes back to mistrust. Iran?s widespread support for terrorists tells us we can?t trust them. Iran?s breaking its obligation on missile testing tells us we can?t trust them. Yesterday?s launch proves that yet again," she said in a statement.

The Trump administration certified Iran as being in compliance with the nuclear deal last week, even though Trump has called the agreement negotiated by his Democratic predecessor "the worst deal ever."

Trump issued a veiled threat against Iran earlier this week, warning Tehran to adhere to the terms of the nuclear accord or face "big, big problems." He said in a speech in Ohio that the deal had "emboldened" Iran and added "that won't take place much longer."

Anthony Scaramucci Out At White House After A Whirlwind 10 Days
He resigned after a controversy-laden, albeit short, tenure.

Anthony Scaramucci has resigned from his role as White House communications director.

Scaramucci was named communications director on July 21, a mere 10 days ago. Axios reports he resigned at the request of Gen. John Kelly, the new White House chief of staff.

?Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team,? a statement from the White House press secretary said Monday. ?We wish him all the best.?

According to CBS and CNN, Scaramucci was escorted from White House grounds Monday.:mj07:

The resignation comes after a controversy-laden week for Scaramucci that included a profanity-laced tirade against other members of President Donald Trump?s White House staff.

His rant, published in The New Yorker, was mostly aimed at then-White House chief of staff Reince Priebus. (Priebus resigned from his post last week and was replaced Monday morning by Kelly.) Scaramucci referred to Priebus as ?a fucking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac.?

Scaramucci also gave one of the more memorable quotes so far of the Trump administration during that interview, while arguing that he doesn?t care for media attention.

?I?m not Steve Bannon, I?m not trying to suck my own cock,? he said.:toast:

But that rant wasn?t the only eyebrow-raising moment during his 10 days in the White House. Scaramucci brought on criticism after directing comments about hair and makeup at White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. He also reportedly received divorce papers from his wife, who gave birth to the couple?s son while Scaramucci was with Trump last week.

Michael Short, an aide in the White House press office, resigned last week because of pressure from Scaramucci, who had threatened to ?fire everybody? in order to stop leaks.

Even his hire was laden with controversy. Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer reportedly submitted his resignation after learning Trump was giving Scaramucci a prominent role on the White House communications team.

Scaramucci?s short tenure followed that of Mike Dubke, who resigned in May after just three months as White House communications director.

Just this morning, Trump assured his Twitter followers there is ?No WH chaos!?

When asked about Scaramucci?s departure during a White House press briefing Monday afternoon, Sanders confirmed that Scaramucci ?does not have a role at this time in the Trump administration,? saying Scaramucci and Kelly came to ?a mutual agreement? about Scaramucci?s departure. She would not say if Scaramucci resigned or was fired.

Of Kelly, Sanders said, ?all staff will report to him.?

Sanders also commented on Scaramucci?s interview with The New Yorker, saying Trump found the remarks ?inappropriate.?

I'm sure he'll get over it and get back to the business of bilking dumb rich people and pension managers into throwing money at him soon.
