It's troubling. Who gives the bride away? And we have had in the past maid of honor. Now do we have the gay of honor? These are tough questions for our governmenr to figure out. That's why they believe they need to do a study. Before giving approval to same sex marriage.

I heard on the radio that Same Sex marriages on average only last 1.5 years! THIS is where I think it gets interesting..........How do you split up a same sex marriage? Do you get half his stuff and he gets half of yours? Who decides who gets what half? Are there special lawyers for this? Is there a real need for same sex marriages?


I knew this girl who had a wife! Yes it is true...........Shocked me too! They did not live together and when they decided to split up ("which was about a year or so after they got "MARRIED") they did not have to get a divorce because Alabama law does not recognize it as legal! This seems like it would be the same as just dating!


Here is a tip........If you are a Gay person, JUST TELL EVERYONE YOU ARE MARRIED AND BE DONE WITH IT! Why in the hell do you want to waste everyones time with this legal jargon while in fact all you are going to do is jump on the next damn good looking pole smoker that comes along.....When your "marriage" is failing in a year or so? We heterosexuals call it dating!

I was raised Catholic, 12 years and one year of Catholic college. Well, I think that if you love someone and feel like you want to spend the rest of your life with that person then you should.
Weather you are homosexual or hetrosexual. I think the gov't or the chruch doesn't have a right to tell you "NO". To each their own as long as it doens't hurt me.

is not that easy for them to say that "you are just married & be done with it". they want the same benefits(health care coverage,etc.) & protections (divorce, etc.) that are offered in hetrosexual marriages.

I agree with AR...imagine that! The problem would be benefits of marriage and also what constitutes a marriage. What is to keep two friends to "marry" so one can enjoy the health benefits of the other. Yet, if we are a nation of people created equal then shouldn't gays have the same rights to benefits as the rest of us?
This could get very confusing.

Healthcare and Insurance Lobbyists are out in full force against this. What would stop college roommates from saying they are "married" for insurance?

What proof can they produce?

With me it's not about right or wrong. I think wearing a mullet is wrong but that doesn't mean I go around trying to tell people how to cut their hair.

I'm an open minded guy ,but I think the logistical aspects of same sex marriage are impossible. Hell straight marriages are tough enough.

The end will come with a decision that couples (straight and gay) will have to be "wed" for 2 years before they can share insurance.
