BOSTON -- Boston Bruins forward Sergei Samsonov is expected to miss up to three months after he undergoes surgery on a broken right wrist Tuesday.
Samsonov first injured the wrist years ago while playing junior hockey in his native Russia.
Coming off consecutive 70-point seasons, the Boston forward has four goals and five assists in just seven games this season. He scored a goal during Boston's 4-2 loss to Buffalo on Wednesday.
Samsonov was the eighth pick in the 1997 NHL Draft.
