Hey guys, just looking for some input on an upcoming move. Vegas has been great but having a family in this city just isn't logical to me. School systems suck, not much for kids to do besides get in trouble. I am a bartender and would like to stay in the restaurant business. Money is good, meet a lot of different people. The 2 places I am considering are Orlando and San Diego. Orange County is an option but is a distant 3rd. Like I said I would like to continue to bartend, preferably in a touristy spot because of volume. Orlando is cheap, lots to do, very touristy and busy year round. San Diego is beautiful, weather is amazing, but very pricey. My girlfriends' parents live in SD, but is it logical? I don't wanna have to work 2 or 3 jobs and struggle financially. Her parents rented a 3br house for $2350 a month. Thats crazy to me. Any input would be helpful. Thanks for any advice
San Diego vs. Orlando vs. Somewhere Else

I'm originally from Pittsburgh. I spent one loooong crazy week in San Diego/La Jolla on Spring Break during college. The weather was awesome, it's absolutely beautiful and the people were friendly, BUT DAMN........was it crazy expensive!
I moved to Orlando 21 years go and have never looked back. Sure there is awful humidity here in the Summer for a while, yeah an occasional hurricane passes through ( but not without a weeks advanced warning), you step over the rare alligator on your way to the lake and as much as you appreciate the tourists for visiting, you'll learn to hate their asses when you're driving ( just as YYZ). On the flip side the cost of living is quite inexpensive, there are oodles of bars to find work, you never need long pants and as long as you're not wearing a hoodie and carrying a bag of Skittles it's a relatively safe place to live. If you're talking about kids, the schools for the most part suck. There are obviously better areas than others, but it is definitely something to consider. You're only 45 minutes from Cocoa Beach and an hour and a half from Clearwater/St. Pete. Would I call if perfect? Hell no, but I worked in radio for a while before moving here and have lived in quite a few different places and I have no intention on ever leaving here.

Clearwater/St. Pete are sweet as hell. My wife and I love it there. When I was going to move to Florida from Oklahoma I had picked Orlando as my destination. My Dad talked me into Jacksonville. Not sure it was the right choice. But personally after living here for 25 years and traveling all over this state I like Tampa. No sea breeze in Orlando every day. Humidity yes. I am sure there is some awesome places to live there though. Good luck on what ever you do!

Thanks guys....I think we have decided on Orlando. Much more to do and lots of jobs with the parks and the beach
I love Pittsburgh as well, but I just couldn't take the weather any longer. My family is still up there and I visit a couple of times a year. One of the most "interesting" towns I've ever lived.......That's for should:0074
